Re: CAF to decide on Nigeria U-17 AFCON spot after WAFU B semi-final defeat to Ivory Coast

Gotti, I can understand CAF's stance to still use the tournament to decide the qualifying teams. To expand the tournament to 16 teams, at the last moment, means extra CAF expenses and teams already qualified for the tournament will be miffed, surely. Next time, Nigeria should start preparations ear...

Re: CAF to decide on Nigeria U-17 AFCON spot after WAFU B semi-final defeat to Ivory Coast

Well, you dont change rules mid race How would you feel if you are the team that knows they have 10 out of 12 chances to qualify for world cup? Would you want your chances diluted to 10/16 or 10/24? Cmoke :D :D :D :D Makes no sense. 10 spots from a 12 team competion. They shouold expand it to 16 or...

Re: CAF to decide on Nigeria U-17 AFCON spot after WAFU B semi-final defeat to Ivory Coast

I'm sorry but there has to be an endemic low IQ player in Nigerian football, the display I'm watching against Ghana hurts my eyes. We urgently need a revamp in our football structure. Don't know what game you were watching, but the kids played very well... And the coaches did a HELUVA job, consider...

They were the better side when we played them in the opening game.

I think we beat them in the 2022 WAFU final.
We did, but they took revenge and knocked us out at the QF of the 2023 U17 AFCON...

A lot of thing is wrong. Beyond late appointment of coaches and poor preparation. There was no proper scouting. You cant have all players scouted mainly from academies in Lagos and Abuja, this is a bad practice. If there was "late appointment of coaches" who was going to do the scouting? ...

The lads are balling ! The team played really well... With better finishing, it could easily have been 5 or 6. PS: African refs have to do a better job on calling the agricultural tackles... Apart from protecting our kids, it'll hurt these other African teams at the WC. https://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: U17 WAFU B Qualifiers - Nigeria (1) v Niger (0)

I think the MRI is a blessing to African football no matter its challenges. One of the key observation and consensus particularly from the analyst in this WAFU U-17 tourney is that the MRI has made it such that African countries are beginning to feature genuinely young lad in the U-17 competition. ...

Re: U17 WAFU B Qualifiers - Nigeria (1) v Niger (0)

kick and rush football, I blame NFF. The team only resorted to a semblance (not total, mind you) of kick-and-rush football after going down to 10 men, which made sense as they already had the lead and with numerical disadvantage were compelled to defend in numbers, while looking (of hoping) to be a...

Re: U17 WAFU B Qualifiers - Nigeria (1) v Niger (0)

Dangerous free-kick to Niger just at the edge of the penalty box. Second of such free kicks in 5 minutes. And red card to Nigerian defender. Poor from the referee. Very bad decisions. African refs! The man might as well be wearing Orange… All of Niger Rep’s chances have come off dodgy reffing decis...

He was called up by previous managers. He was even in our AFCON 2021 squad and played in 2 group stage matches. He also payed at the FIFA U20 World Cup where he would have been seen by plenty agents. He didn’t. Nigeria didn’t qualify… He played in the U17 WC (w/ Osimhen and Chukwueze), was voted to...
