Re: Here we go again: Open camp of SE to local talent-Finidi's first move

I am leery about commenting on this because I'm not sure if this is a Finidi idea or an NFF idea or a figment of the reporter's imagination. We wont know because our coach has not been introduced and there has not been a formal press conference. Let's assume it's true. On the face of it, there's NO...

Re: Here we go again: Open camp of SE to local talent-Finidi's first move

People that defended a coach selecting only 25 players when he could have selected 27 are criticising another for calling up local league players before foreign players come in. Bros, who defended the coach for selecting only 25 players when the decision was not his. Wasn’t it an affordability issu...

Re: Here we go again: Open camp of SE to local talent-Finidi's first move

the responses so far are exactly why we need a coach that counters the Nigerian element of oddities. Imagine this headline: ***Brazilian Coach throws camp open for home based players for Senior Team selection. *** Even with a better league than our NPFL wouldn't this sound off to you? Here's the st...

Which successful African team does this ?

CIV ?

Senegal ?

Morocco ?
The successful 1994 and 2013 Super Eagles teams did it

  i would have preferred Amunike, i don't know how tested Finidi is at the helm being a World Cup qualifying year !! :???: You would have preferred a coach who: - has won only one trophy - U17 - who last coached as an assistant in January 2022 (2 years ago) to a FAILED WC qualificati...

CONGRATULATIONS TO FINIDI To the naysayers - you know yourselves, despite the fake congratulatory notes, the false "hope he proves me wrong" and the "I'm praying for him" - your true sentiments are well documented here. Only a foreign manager, even a journeyman foreigner, inspir...

Re: Guys stop telling Finidi what to do

It is irritating seeing the first comments from individuals already telling him what to do. You're supporter not a coach .I didn't hear about anyone here on CE applying for the job. Abeg shut your gob! I kinda think telling coach what to do is the behavior of fans everywhere. I’d be chill about it....

Re: Who’s on the NFF technical committee?

Who are the people that actually vote to recommend a coach to the board for approval? I know Eguavoen is the Director but who are the other people on that committee? We blame the coach and Nff for everything but we need to look at the caliber of people who are tasked with making technical decisions...

But our WOWOOR hero Finidi George doesn't like him. I cannot wait for these clowns to take over SE and run it into the ground. Positives Has been with the team for almost 2 years. Should be familiar with the players by now. May help quell some of the unnecessary clamor for home based players. He should know the league by now Right? Should command respect from the lads with his pedigree as a player and what he has accomplis...

Re: Do you really care who the coach is

This whole ‘African Football’ concept heavily buys into the African stereotype which racist commentators and coaches alike use to limit opportunities for our African players - “athleticism”, “speed” and “physical strength” . There’s nothing uniquely tactical or psychological about the African ‘game...
