Re: Southgate deserves credit for learning from Bobby Robson
Not even Hoddle is deluded enough to think he can get into this Super Eagles side. However, Gascoigne is a different matter, I look forward to seeing him partnering Mikel in that midfield!!!

Game Over....Tammy Abraham To Be Called By England
According to reports on Talksport radio in the UK, Tammy Abraham will be called up for the two England friendlies in November. Seems Tammy is lost to the Super Eagles but, at least, we can now concentrate on the players available to us. No more distractions in that department.

Re: U.S had a pay to play policy?
Apart from your silly jibe about my country, good question. I was very surprised about the pay-to-play system the Americans seem to have in place. Basically, you get to learn to play the game and represent your country depending on how fat your parent's wallet is. Dig this rant: https://www.youtube....

Sadio Mane out for six weeks....advantage SA?
Not only messes up Liverpools's season but a clear advantage for South Africa to advance to the World Cup. Just how influential is Mane to Senegal and does this derail their Russia 2018 hopes?

Forumer Of The Year.....waka-man

If such a thing exists, I would like to nominate waka-man CE forumer of the year. Not just for making his bold prediction from the get-go but sticking with it even when faced with such overwhelming derision.

Heads-Up UK football fans with Freesat
UK residents with Freesat players can now access free-to-air sports channel, FreeSports. Assorted sports are shown, including plenty of live football. I watched a bit of FC Brugge vs KAA Gent this afternoon, great header goal by Dennis Bonaventure. It is on Channel 252 and you can watch live Portugu...

Hi truetalk I am not an expert on football tactics or strategy. As a matter of fact, everything I know about tactics can be written on the back of a postage stamp...with a paint brush. No doubt there are quite a few guys on this forum more able to analyse your views and suggestions. However, I would...

Re: John Mikel Obi
If Conte was to lose his job today and Guus Hiddink brought back as interim coach, you don't need to be a genius to know what his first tactical decision would be...Mikel back to solidify that midfield. He has to be one of the least understood and most underappreciated footballer around. Let's just ...

Re: Mikel on Talksports...
Heard the interview on Talksport conducted by Danny Kelly and ex-cricketer Darren Gough. Good interview in which Mikel was full of praise for Etebo, at one point comparing him to Frank Lampard; box-to-box player with a lot of energy. Also said he was looking forward to working with the new Chelsea m...

Re: Eva Carneiro 'rejected £1.2m Chelsea settlement'
If I remember correctly from A Level law, if she wins and the court awards her an amount less than the £1.2million offered by Chelsea then she would be liable, not just for her legal costs but Chelsea's as well. Hopefully, for her sake, she won't live to regret turning down the money offered by Chel...

John Obi Mikel - underrated and maligned
This is a genuine and honest question not an attempt to belittle either Makelele or Matic, the former was a great player and the latter is developing into a world class player. However, watching Chelsea v PSG last night, it actually dawned on me that the much maligned and criticised Mikel is the onl...

Re: Why are players loyal to Keshi?
This is the question I'm posing, especially to the staunch Anti-Keshi faction. The sense I get when I read stories coming from camp is that these guys like playing for Keshi. Players like Mikel, Enyeama especially, not only do they not speak out and show displeasure over his "questionable"...

Ribery out of the world cup
Franck Ribery will miss the world cup through injury. Seems like this WC will be remembered, not just for the quality of the games (hopefully!!!) but for the number of class players that will be missing.

I am still wondering why the term 'Keshit' is worrying people. We live in a free society where people have the right to do what they wish so long as it is within the law. However, we should remember that CE is the leading forum when it comes to discussing Nigerian football hence a magnet for most N...

From Africa only Nigeria yet to release their final list of players So what is your point? With that said, I hope this is a trend. That we will be the last African team to leave Brazil. Good thinking Robby, Australia are the first to arrive in Brazil, won't be surprised if they're the first to pack...
