Re: The Arsenal FC - Related News and Devts for 2022-23 Season
We need to back up the brinks truck and go after Mbappe. Pay PSG and Mbappe whatever he wants. Future Ballon d’or winner with a good 8+ quality years ahead of him. He’s probably going to Real but a man can dream.

Re: Morocco - Best African team ever.
This Morocco team is the most successful African team at the WC but not the best team ever. Anyways, it’s good an African team has finally made the WC SF. Historic.

Re: Ghana 0 - Uruguay 2 Portugal 1- Korea thread 1 2nd half
Ghana’s defending on the first goal was shocking and likely killed their chances of advancing. I counted 5 avoidable defensive errors: 1. Cheap midfield giveaway with little pressure 2. Cross comes in and first Ghanaian defender misses it 3. Second Ghanaian misses it 4. Keeper with a weak save. Coul...

Re: [AFCON 2021 Final Match] Senegal 0(4) Egypt 0(2) PKs SENEGAL ARE 1ST TIME AFCON CHAMPIONS!!!!
I just read a comment where someone described Egypt's tactics in this tournament as "Park the bus and inshallah".   To be honest, while that was said in jest, there is a lot of truth to it, no matter how much our resident football experts try to " modern football &quo...

Re: [AFCON 2021 Final Match] Senegal 0(4) Egypt 0(2) PKs SENEGAL ARE 1ST TIME AFCON CHAMPIONS!!!!
I’m happy for Senegal. Good to see them take home their first ACN. Well deserved. This Egypt team was unimpressive most of the tournament. We won 2/7 matches in normal time, scored 3 goals in normal time, and were outplayed against 3/5 big teams we went up against. To our credit we went toe to toe w...

Re: City being force fed dry okpa by Wolves ... 0-2 FT
Biggest issue for City going into this season was sustaining high levels of motivation. Its hard to get excited after winning the league twice in a row. Liverpool is the hungrier team and wont let their gas off the pedal. The bright spot I suppose for City is they can give 100% in the CL but I have ...

Re: The Arsenal FC - Related News and Development for 2019/2
The EPL is playing out as expected for me this season. Liverpool and City are a cut above while spots 3 and 4 are wide open. The only surprises are City have fallen back this early (I expected Liverpool to win the league in a closer battle) and Chelsea are better than expected. There is absolutely n...

Not sure why the Luiz signing was so widely celebrated. Today was vintage David Luiz. He'd be a good squad player for us but he isn't reliable enough to anchor a defense.

I find it hard to believe Arsenal did not offer RVP a new deal. Maybe it was a deal he did not like? If they did not offer a new contract it goes to show how foolish management was at the time. What I don't understand in any event is why they sold him to a rival. The club could have played hardball ...

Official loan fee for Coutinho was 8.5m euros plus wages. I think his wages are around 11m euros per year. I'm disappointed Arsenal didn't make a stronger push for him. We have 4 offensive positions available which Coutinho could have filled at any time. Between our current players and him we would ...

Can we agree there is no reason why we shouldn't finish 3rd or 4th this season? We were 1 pt short of 4th despite choking at the end of last season with a far inferior team. Coupled with Chelsea losing their best player, United losing their best scorer, and neither them nor Spurs improving, and I ca...

What will folks here say if Iwobi is a bust at Everton? That he doesn't have enough service? We sold a guy that was not going to be a starter for us within the next 3 years for 40M. I would rather take the sure thing (40M) than the uncertainty that after 3+ years of coming off the bench he might be...

You guys are being incredibly biased. We are about to sell a guy that has failed to live up to expectations and has no prospects of being a starter in the foreseeable future for 40MP and yet you are whining  For 40M we can easily find at least 2, and probably 3 young players in their late teens...

David Luiz is a bum. I don't care what we paid, this guy is so shaky and overrated it is unbelievable. He's one of those guys who you ask yourself how he has managed to play on all these big teams over the years (Chelsea, PSG, Brazil). Brazil has been smart enough to no longer call him up for duty. ...

I hope we get Coutinho. He fits our style better and will be way more dynamic than Ozil.
An attacking quartet of Laca, Auba, Pepe, Coutinho would give any team fits.

Re: The Arsenal FC - Related News and Development for 2019/2
B+ summer for us so far. It can become an A if we can shore up our defense and get rid of some dead wood before Thursday. If Arsenal are willing to spend this much now, imagine how much more purchasing power we'll have once Ozil, Mkhitarayan, and other underperformers come off the books.
