AFCON win or world cup qualification?
Hello everyone
This is a common debate among many african NT fans.
Would you rather have Nigeria win the AFCON 2021/2 and then not qualify for the world cup, or Nigeria getting knocked out in the second round or quarter finals of the AFCON followed by a qualification to the world cup?
Thanks

Lol they were only missing James and falcao(who is not always a starter anymore)Tobi17 wrote:Just saw the Colombian line up, and realized they were missing some key players. It was pretty much their team C with a new coach, but impressive result by Algeria nonetheless.

Re: Senegal vs Algeria final - Some Thoughts
First of all I wanna congratulate and thank Egypt for the organization. They managed to provide good quality infrastructures despite having to organize a 24 team tournament on such short notice. They deserve credit for that. I also want to congratulate Senegal, Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire. They have g...

Very poor résumé, they don't have what it takes to coach a good african NT.

Very talented player, however I can't say the same from a mental stand point.
Poor choices(not wanting to play in Europe, doing cocaine)prevented him from having a career that matches his talent.

Re: Senegal vs Algeria final - Some Thoughts
It will be a tough game for us, Senegal played us already. They have an edge over all of our previous opponents because they can learn from the mistakes they commited in the first game. We will have to step up our game in order to beat them. We'll also have to be more prolific and score the chances ...

Re: CAF HANDLING OF HOSTING RIGHTS
Most of Western Africa will be in its rainy season in June/July. And it can’t be held in the Southern Hemisphere all the time. I mostly agree. The worst decision was turning the 2019 and 2021 contests into 24 team tournaments when the hosts made bids to host 16 teams tournaments. Where I'm not sure...

I mostly agree. The worst decision was turning the 2019 and 2021 contests into 24 team tournaments when the hosts made bids to host 16 teams tournaments. Where I'm not sure I agree is when some people say moving the tournament to june was a mistake. I'd say if the tournament is played in the norther...

Among second round teams only the greece were not better
I think the US looked weaker than the eagles too in their second round game but they did much better in the group stages.

Me,i was rooting against them and still will in the future, for 2 reasons: 1.In 31 of the 32 countries that made it to the world cup, football is the king of sports, the love of the people for this sport is unconditional and unmatched by other sports. The only exception is the USA.It's saddening to see ...

Re: Algeria's Future
Yes it's yohan's father,Christian. Lorient developed great football under gourcuff despite being the lowest budget in ligue 1 for a decade. However coaching a club is not the same as coaching an nt(he coached only lorient for 3 decades). He will need to get accustomed to the fact that he'll only have ...

Re: NIGERIA VS ALGERIA QUARTER FINAL
The schedule for these acn qualifiers is way too tight and algeria is gona enter a new cycle with a new staff and replace some of it's players.Plus the acn is only 6 months from now, that's way too soon. There is not enough time to be ready I don't see us doing well in 2015 acn(if we qualify).

Re: Algeria's Future
The FA president wanted vahid to renew his contract before the world cup in order to be prepared for the acn qualifiers, vahid refused to give his answer before the world cup so the fa already chose someone to replace him. It's gonna be gourcuff from lorient fc in france.Lager-back wrote:Why is Vahid leaving ?

I don't like to agree with a certain Opak Yarner (Not Talking about you) on the Forum, but I think they are the most complete African Nation , not just personal-wise but also tactically. They were Unlucky against Belgium. That would be ghana or nigeria imo On the contrary,I think we are an incomple...
