Re: Kelechi Nwakali…
When Nwakali can play like this, call me. Midfield is a two way street. Offensive capability is 50% of the job requirement.
Paul defines the work required on and off the ball.

Nice line up but Sanusi cannot be available before September. An ACL tear cannot heal that fast.

Re: WING PLAY IS BAAAACK!
I’m
Not a fan of Egu either and certainly not as a long term solution. However, if we look at just the two AFCON performances 2023 vs 2021 and minus Osimhen, Nigeria played far superior soccer under Eguavoen that the team that just made it to the finals.
The stats don’t lie.

Re: Ola Aina Played AFCON 2023 Final with Injury, Nottingham Forest Coach Says
Troost, Aina, Osimhen, Zaidu and Lookman are all patriots in my book. They sacrificed for this country.
We can blame the squad depth etc but my focus is on the character of these guys.
Troost played with a torn muscle in his thigh. Now he is out for the season!!!

Re: My 23 man list against Argentina
Yes to trying out Daga and Eletu. Fundamentally, we need to change to the 3/5/2. A: The three man center back set up must remain with Igbu, Tosin and Osho being the deputies worth trying. B: We need a double pivot of Ndidi & Onyeka to protect the back four. We need Folorunsho, Iwobi or Bashiru i...

Re: Let's Revisit the 3-4-3 formation.
There was NOTHING wrong with the 3/4/3. Iwobi is not a deep playmaker and a two way midfielder. He is an exceptional player though. If Ndidi and Onyeka are paired as a twin pivot and we play with Iwobi as a playmaker ahead of them while switching to a 3/5/2 with either Boniface and Osimhen or Moffi ...

Regardless of the outcome of todays AFCON final, I foresee 50% of the following diaspora players requesting a primary or secondary switch to Nigeria before the year is out. Fikayo Tomori J. Re: Liverpool Midfielder Jones Confirms His Eligibility To Play For Nigeria, Backs Super Eagles To Win AFCON
Guys, let’s be real. If this was 2022, post World Cup, fine. We are two years from the next one. How many midfielders can England carry? In addition to the obvious supporting cast to Fosen, Mount, Bellingham and co, do you really think a competition squad can have Eze, Jones, Madueke? Two of those t...

Re: Hosts in AFCON Finals
Well, HA cannot be disputed. However, if we use the statistics from 2000 to date, hosts have only won 60% of the time. And in the final, slightly better. The level playing field will come down to VAR and officiating in modern African football. I would not use any statistics from 1996 and before beca...

What role does fatigue play in the final
CIV has had to play two grueling matches enroute to the final. 120 minutes against Mail and also Senegal. Nigeria played one.
What role if any does this play in player fatigue ahead of tomorrows final?

Not according to Maroc. They claim that he is hell bent on doing everything rig the aaFCON in favor of his nation. Hopefully, that has no coincidence with the choice of refs and hopefully this is not related to the food poisoning incident. We don’t need Hayatou 2.0.

Coincidental superstitions enhancing the probability of an Eagles win
I do not believe in superstition or luck. For those who do, here are some “coincidences” whenever Naija wins an AFCON A: A revelation emerges. Someone who has never been heard off in Eagles colors B: A player scores two goals in a match in the specific tournament. 1980: Odegbami 1994: Amunike 2013: ...
