Re: Austin Ejide injured in Israel
I've always thought he looked a little on the heavy side. Better conditioning may limit his susceptibility to injury..

Good move..Why undervalue yourself and accept a probably lowball contract a month before the globe's biggest soccer showpiece?

Re: EPL Flops of the season
Negredo is definitely not a flop. He was on a torrid pace before he got hurt and missed a few games. Dzeko came in and played well and Negredo has been trying to get back up to speed since then. Soldado and Torres, on the other hand, are damaged goods..

"..quicker than a jungle cat.."
Gotta appreciate his passion for the game

Re: Was Uchebo playing as a midfielder?
Txj - I watched his highlights from Venlo and Brugge so I believe that captures the Dutch and Belgian leagues. Your curt tone notwithstanding, my observations on his skill set are very spot on and valid!

Re: Was Uchebo playing as a midfielder?
I just watched some of Uchebo's highlights at Venlo and I must say he looks promising. I know it's the Belgian league but he has some speed and very quick feet for his size, kinda like Kanu. He hustles and is ALWAYS looking to get his teammates involved with quick passes. He could be really special ...

LOL..The more things change, the more they stay the same in here. We were having this same discussion about George Abbey 10 years ago. George Abbey, interestingly, was another mixed Naija who happened to play right back.

Re: Emenike Need Competition.
I think the player on the team who needs competition/motivation/A little kick in the butt is Moses. I'm still trying to figure out what he was doing trying a shot from the half line at the center of the pitch when we had a swift counter with numbers..

Nigeria's first eleven bordering on world class?? Does that include Ambrose and Elderson and the likes of Ideye and Mba?? :rotf: :rotf: I'm going to be as brief as possible: POSITIVES: 1) Nigeria's first 11 is clearly bordering world class and dominated the Mexicans in the early exchanges. 2) Keshi ...

Re: Let the bashing begin!!!
I agree on Imoh Ezekiel. He has some creative spark. I would give him more time next game.. Except from Olaitan I think we have seen the best player material Nigeria has to offer. The potential is there but we still don't have a cohesive, strong midfield and Osaze and Ike Uche wouldn't have changed ...

The good news is that we are playing these friendlies and the misfits are playing themselves off the team. I'm happy Keshi has opened up the competition for spots with the invitation of Imoh, Uchebo and Balogun..

The ESPN commentator is lame! His vocal inflection (or lack thereof) is not in line with the pace of the game.
