Re: Nigeria makes the next round + these other teams
Thought it is round-robin or am I mistaken? Which teams would be in pot 1? It is a playoff, like in 2014. Burkina Faso just equalized against Algeria. IF they hold on today, there is a good chance that group goes to the last match day. Niger and Djibouti are both very weak. Stallions have Djibouti ...

Right side is abominable. SImon lost defensively and poor crosses, Shehu just terrible in general as he has been since 2018 or so.

Re: NIGERIA SELECT 0 MEX 2
The funny thing is some of these our players will end up having more successful individual careers than the Mexicans. Based on what? I wish the boys luck though... On history. We simply produce more successful European based players. Maybe if you just are taking Europe into account. Liga MX is prob...

Re: NIGERIA vs CAMEROUN - Line Up
Kelechi and Onuachu are both good players, but this is an awful partnership. We know what Onuachu can do in terms of scoring. But his all around play is really not good enough. He is very slow, does not press, and doesn't really have the ball skills to play people in. To get production from him, you...

Re: Daryl Dike
Dike should play for the USA, just from a footballing standpoint. Striker is Nigeria's strongest position right now and USA's weakest. I am sure he has affection for both countries, but it pretty easy when you might start for one nation and not make the squad for the other. This boy will be a big pl...

Re: Osimhen vs Torino(Vic Hangs)
Vic still has a lot of growing up do do. He needs to curtail his emotions and channel them to better use. All this beating of the turf needs to stop. It presents him as petulant, out of control and emotionally immature. em dude is 20. all that will go with time 22. Nothing is wrong with aggression,...

Re: 10 observations I have to make about the Lesotho game
Everyone can have an opinion, but it is odd that in a match where the two centrebacks easily shut out the opposition and Iheanacho broke the deadlock with a wonderful assist, that these are the three players you single out for criticism. In fact, 5 of the 10 points are dedicated to those three. It w...

Re: Please form an orderly line, single file ...
He is a great option off the bench against teams that are sitting back and playing deep. I like that he, Kelechi, and Oshimen are different type of players. One drops deep and poaches, one run in behind and holds it up, one old school aerial centre forward. The coaches just have to realize he cannot...

Re: Granada 2 vs Napoli 0
Osimhen has not looked the same since coming back from Covid, tbh. He was out for a very long time with it, so maybe it affected him badly. He is usually almost like Vardy in the way that he is always chasing after things and harrying all the defenders and there is a lot more standing still in his g...

Re: Iheanacho vs Fulham
The reality is that Kelechi is an extreme confidence player and inconsistent. It is not just his goal-scoring, but his touch and effort. When he is confident, the touches are silky, he picks passes like a #10, and closes down/fights to hold up the ball really well. The problem is that, when he is of...

Re: What has Happened to Iheanacho in Leicester?
He just seems like an incredibly fragile player. Worked so hard last year, fought his way into Leicester's team, then the National team, and was playing very good football last season, but now he's just back at square one. Just awful performances. They will ship him out in January or relegate him to...

Re: Rohr has got to start picking players on current form
The Lookman Iheanacho comparison is genuinely bizarre. They don't play the same position for club and likely won't be in competition for a places in the squad. So because Lookman finished a 1 on 1 and Kelechi couldn't get a touch on one that flashed across him, Lookman is a better finisher? Nothing ...

Re: ANCQ SIL 0 - NIG 0
That is why you win at home in Africa. The stadium in Sierra Leone was a disgrace. Ghana lost at Sudan today, it is difficult in these environments. The failure was in Benin, not today. Just take the point and get out of there. Chukwueze was decent when he got involved, Iheanacho played fairly well,...

Re: ANCQ SIL 0 - NIG 0
It is incredible that Musa is still on the pitch. He has not been in the game at all. It is not even that he is playing poor balls or losing it, he has been completely invisible, why is he still playing?
A draw essentially qualifies Nigeria, tbh, but this has not been good enough over two matches.

I am not with firing Rohr right now, but the results since the return from lockdown have not been good enough at all. Team has been disorganized in all three games, which is not really like his teams at all.

This result likely will not matter at all. The likely result is the SE easily win the reverse fixture and top the group. However, it says a lot about this team and its mentality. Winners would never collapse like that.

You can tell this is a player who is not fit. He trying to do the right things, but is always a step slow or having his touch fail him.green4life wrote:Musa just dey spoil ball left and right. Ah ah.

Re: If Nigeria were a football club...
Nigeria has plenty of talent to be an upper mid-table side in the big leagues, but the lack of real creativity in midfield or quality at keeper would definitely hurt them. A lot of talented attackers, solid tackling midfield, powerful defense that will be prone to mistakes occasionally. Defensive-mi...

Re: Napoli vs Real Sociedad
Don't really know what you are talking about in terms of him needing to calm down. First card was a bit of exuberance and frustration, but the second is a joke. He just jumped and had his arm move after the defender headed his arm. No manager would tell their target man not to jump for the ball in t...

Referee is mad. The defender jumped into the back of Osimhen's arm. It's a red card for jumping higher than the defender.

Re: Kayode vs Samu, Kele vs Zorya Luhansk
Kelechi is a good player. It is nice to see him back fit and in form, he's played well since he came on in that match against Everton last year. The only problem I see at both club and country, is that he's a bit miscast in every position. His finishing ability fooled everyone into thinking he was a...
