Re: 3rd PLACE FINISH IS GREAT ACHIEVEMENT FOR NIGERIA - IWOB

I guess the cliche is true that fans can say whatever they like, a lot of which is pure emotion. It doesn't mean people are not capable of rational thought but the emotion of football, like religion, often dictates what we say and how we process info. Iwobi is at the dawn of a promising and success...

Re: 3rd PLACE FINISH IS GREAT ACHIEVEMENT FOR NIGERIA - IWOB

Bros, I doubt that the team and fans aim low. The reaLity is that Nigeria and the top African teams all aspire to win the Cup. That is always the goal at the AFCON for such teams. There are other teams that may aspire to simply go beyond the group phase and to the quarter final for example. These w...

Re: LIVID ODEGBAMI'S RECORD VS ALGERIA

Odegbami has earned the right to critic Nigeria football anytime anywhere... He served the nation when they were 'dashing' players allowances and lunch-coupons to eat at Trade Fair complex... He can scream bloody murder if players earning thousands of dollar bonuses cannot complete a 5 yard pass......

Re: Player for player, the current team is VASTLY superior t

Yes, I watched the 94 team. Trust me, I love that tean as kuch as anyone else. They were the most ENTERTAINING team we have ever produced, but they are not as good technically or tactically as the current team. In fact, it is probably my "over watching" of 1994 games that has opened up my...

NO. And we're only talking football, mind... Solace Chukwu is pretty decent..but not even in the top 100 football writers for me... Go read Jonathan Wilson Tim Vickery Sid Lowe Richard Jolly Paul Tomkins Henry Winter Barnay Ronay etc etc Tim Vickery? Really. Not even sure I’ll call him a “writer”. ...

Re: Player for player, the current team is VASTLY superior t

I am not trolling at all. I'm just being very honest. I too enjoyed the 94 team, but my judgment is not clouded by nostalgia. The 94 team lost to 10-man Italy for goodness sake! They were entertaining to watch but as a team they were poor. You really want to compare a CL winner who has won every tr...

Re: COLLIN’S TAKE...

The big elephant not discussed is whether Mikel can fit into the team play. Playing Iwobi as an AM was the glue between Etebo/Ndidi and the attack. When Mikel becomes fit again, you know Rohr will place him back in the first 11. Also, I am suspecting that our goal drought in the ANC prior to yester...

Re: My best team will start vs Cameroon – Rohr

Call me emotional all you want, but Rohr's team has never filled me with optimism ever since he arrived on these shores... Sure, he sets up his team such that it is difficult to beat, which is a good thing...but then, what next..? A bore-fest of sideways passes and the occasional long ball to an is...

Re: My best team will start vs Cameroon – Rohr

I have watched all our games and I have no doubts that we have a far better team than most teams that I have seen in this tournament. We just had one bad game that started with a freak accidental goal and a deflection from a set piece. I shake my head in wonder as I read through many negative and f...

Re: THIS ONE’s ON ROHR

I would like to consider myself quite logical and measured in my thought process. It was clear that Rohr did not prepare the team well whatsoever for this match. Very poor indeed. This is a borderline sacking performance. It's not the end of the world. We lost 2-0 to South Africa at home and then w...

Anyone with info on Rohr's post match press conference? Really need to see what that goat had to say! Re: Nigeria 0 v Madagascar 2 (2H)

This is not a knee-jerk reaction: Rohr has not improved this team since he arrived... Yeah, he has achieved results, but this team has been dormant for years... Defensively we have clearly improved, but that has taken away from our offense. A problem made worse by the conservative bent of the coach...

No urgency. No off-the-ball runs. No attacking of 2nd balls. No guile.
Madagascar simply standing watching the ball in front of them.

This is a frigging disgrace.

Re: AFCON 2019: NIGERIA 1 VS 0 GUINEA FULL TIME

Highly irresponsible decision by Guinea to play an unfit Keita in this game. Just plain and unconscionable decision. And to leave him on the field when he was clearly taking a beating, going down time and again was sheer wickedness. You don’t put a players career to such obvious and avoidable risk....
