Did the NFF Actually Sign this Contract with Peseiro?

Post by anointed »

Peseiro's contract as the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria will expire after the African Cup of Nations, but it has a provision that it will be extended if the team gets to the final of the tournament in Cote d'Ivoire next year.
...the reason why he's still at the helm is because his contract stipulates that if he is sacked, while he still has a running contract he will be due an equivalent of his salary of around $60,000 per month for the next three years
https://owngoalnigeria.com/2023/11/27/n ... e-peseiro/

Who thinks of contract clauses like this? How did they come about the 3 years? Was NFF hypnotized to sign into servitude? Or is kickback involved?

This just has to be a lie

Yeah I don't believe it. I wish there is a way I can get my hand on a copy of the agreement to verify the information. So they are telling us if the NFF sack him today, he will be owed for 3 years worth of salary. Maybe he mean't to say 3 months.

Annointed dumbo is back again!

Suppose Pussero gets us to the ANC final game, so you will then sack him?

Bobo's contract extension is contingent upon good performance at ANC, plus he took a pay cut.

Contract negotiations na give and take

but dumbo annointed no go know

The clause in question @Cmoke is if they fire him now before Afcon, the NFF will owe him for the next 3 years.

Rushed to fire last two coaches, but ended up with this one. Not sure why people are still eager to do another firing.
Hopefully, one or two players would step up and into onfield leadership. This is not an ideal option but at this point one would be insane to expect any reasonable decision from the Nigeria's FA.

If you are on fire wouldn't you rush to put out the fire. If you see a sex offender next to a school park, wouldn't you call the police immediately. ?

Fire him, should have never renewed his contract.

:D
its not that serious. But what is painful is watching the same horror movie over and over. You all have been here before. If they will hire Finidi or Amunike then we are talking

If it's necessary, as in this case, then it has to be done.

But it's not so much the sacking but the clauses in the contract, if true. Did NFF read the contract before signing it with Gbeseiro? Why would any serious organization do that? And the thing is that, they keep signing contracts like this all the time, knowing full well that the there are no guarantees about any coach and also that it took something to extricate us from Rohr.

It sounds like NFF is the primary problem, not the coaches. They would probably do this same again, so just getting rid of this particular coach may not solve the problem. The plan should be for the long term. SE can afford to suffer poor performance in the short term again, but long term is the main issue here. Who are taking these decisions, are they qualified to even hire gas station attendants?
