Pillars vs Enyimba called off in first half stoppage time due to rain. Score was 0 - 0 at the time. Game will resume 9am tomorrow.

NPFL Championship Play-offs: Rangers Beat Lobi Stars To Secure First Win

Enugu Rangers bounced back from their opening day loss to oriental rivals, Enyimba by beating champions Lobi Stars 2-1 in their Nigeria Professional Football League Championship play-offs tie at the Agege Stadium on Thursday, reports Completesports.com.

Rangers dominated the opening exchanges and scored the curtain raiser through Godwin Aguda in the 13th minute.

Chiamaka Madu doubled the Flying Antelopes advantage in the 28th minute dribbling past Ospino Egbo before slotting the ball into the net.

Sikiru Alimi pulled a goal back for Lobi Stars a minute before the hour mark following a beautiful cross from his strike partner Samad Kadiri.

It was Alimi ‘ s second goal in the Championship play-off.

Lobi Stars were however unable to find the all important equalising goal going down to their first defeat of the competition.

Six – time champions, Enyimba and Kano Pillars will clash in the day’s final fixture.

Earlier in the day, Akwa United beat FC IfeanyiUbah 2-1 to record their first win of the Championship play-off.

Yep! "They" killed us today... :oops:

First, "they" awarded Akwa United a shady PK, then "they" red carded Isiaka, and finally "they" gave Akwa United as much added time as they needed to grab an equalizer. "They" have come again o! LOL!

The great Zee, unfortunately Silas sustained an ankle injury before the super 6 and has not featured in any of the matches.
Score is now Rangers 0 - 1 Pillars and we are a man down with Tope Olusesi given a second yellow in the 74th minute. YemiB’s juju is very potent. Seems the league title has slipped out of our hands, a pity after doing so well during the regular league.
