They may be wearing more grippy studs. Just guessing. The slipping it too much.

On the contrary, quite a talented team...
Talented team that requires 10 chances to score 1.

You have to be talented to create that many chances, no?
The team is quick, very physical, hard working but blunt upfront so I would not call them talented.

The ball should not have been there in the first instance…
The goal was a defensive TEAM effort, starting with those falling all over the place.
Story story... :?, dude can't use his right to save his life.
Drivel…if others did their jobs properly, he wouldn’t have to use right, wrong, left or center…smh

I'm still baffled that Ogboji (5) and Ogbadibo (18) made the team. Are these two the best Nigeria can offer at this level?

The real question we should ask ourselves is, how come smaller nations like Senegal, Mali and even Burkina Faso produce players that play intelligent, entertaining and disciplined football? surely these factors go beyond just coaching. Does the average Nigerian player at a foundational level lack football intelligence relative to their African counterparts? it's really worrying.

They're talented but they are making theses game more difficult than necessary by failing to make obvious simple passes to the open man (including the hated side ways and back passes). With smart and composed passing, their talent will shine.

the biggest challenge IMO with coaching Nigerian youth players is getting them to buy into the team game, as in 1-2 touch passing, predetermined movement and passing, rather than the instinct to hold the ball or run with it...

and to buy into it completely. Not some of the time; ALL of the time...

Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

Seems the kids focus is more on style, than substance. That nonsense needs to be coached out of them.

Everyone loses though, even the best teams. So in a match one team must lose

You can't coach basic football intelligence into a team, ours is an endemic problem I think, we need to start forcing our players at all grassroot levels to play a certain style of football.
