Real will offload 'bad boys' Becks & Ronaldo

REAL MADRID have told Chelsea they can have David Beckham and Ronaldo for £75million after losing patience with their celebrated Galacticos.
Real believe team spirit at the Bernabeu is being damaged by the duo's off-field distractions.
Chelsea will have to pay £40m to land Beckham, with another £35m enough to secure injury-plagued World Cup winner Ronaldo.
Real managing director Jorge Valdano maintains privately that the only question now is whether Chelsea are willing to meet Madrid's asking price.
Real believe Chelsea offered Barcelona £40m for Ronaldo's Brazilian team-mate Ronaldinho two weeks ago and are counting on Roman Abramovich's determination to bring the world's most famous names to Stamford Bridge to broker the big-money Beckham and Ronaldo deal.
It is reported in Spain today that Valdano's position is simple: "If Chelsea come in with the right money, then it is down to Beckham and the club. They would have to make a huge offer, but if they do then they can move the thing on."
Real will use the money to fund their summer recruitment drive, which they believe will bring Ruud van Nistelrooy, Roma's Francesco Totti, Xavi Alonso of Real Sociedad, and a big-name centre-half to the Bernabeu. Beckham does not want to return to England despite the current pressure on his marriage, fearing he will be labelled a failure after just one season in Spain.
But there is frustration among the Bernabeu hierarchy at the off-field scrutiny that has followed the England captain's every move in the wake of allegations about his private life.
Some Madrid players have complained that the media gaze has been turned onto them, with the consequent loss of focus putting their championship defence in jeopardy. Real have seen their eight-point lead over Valencia evaporate.
Real are also determined to make a drastic overhaul of their squad in the wake of their early Champions League exit. Ronaldo's attitude has also been a concern and Real's private utterances will be all the encouragement Chelsea need to step up their bid to sign both players.

£40MM for a player who had an average season at best - and was bought for £25MM less than one year ago?Wow! Then again this is a transaction between the last 2 crazy clubs left spending money like water.
Also Madrid has no alternative. There is only one club in England that will pay even £20MM or 25 MM for Beckham, let alone more. So given that the club in name is Chelski, why not just ask for £40MM - its really all the same: just peanuts to Abramovic!

"Jose Mourinho favoured directness and used to throw Robert Huth or John Terry up front when Chelsea were chasing the game, a ploy associated with the industrial era of English football management."

In a team full of superstars, the "ROLE PLAYERS" are alwasy the most important players. Looking at the list of player's short-listed by real for midfielder's, they are not going to be any better. They need a strong anchor man in their midfield to sit just infront of their defense. Given their racist record, they will find it hard to get a good one that is a Galactico to sell jersey's for Perez. They can go buy a defender, but it won't help them at all with a porous midfield.

Real: Becks not for sale - but Ronaldo is

Chelsea can have Ronaldo if the money is right, but David Beckham is not for sale and will play at least another season with Real Madrid. That was the message from Spain after Jorge Valdano, Real's director of football, spoke exclusively to The Observer about press speculation suggesting Beckham was on his way back to England.
Valdano and Beckham met last week at the funeral of the mother of club president Florentino Pérez. 'Nothing has changed,' said Valdano. 'I have spoken to him and he is calm.'
Two weeks ago the England captain had a meeting with Pérez at which the president showed his total support despite Beckham's admission that things had not gone as smoothly as he would have wanted. From those meetings Real Madrid have reached one conclusion: Beckham will be playing for them next season.
If they get their way - which means offloading either or both of Ronaldo and Luis Figo - Madrid will not only keep Beckham, they will bring in Francesco Totti from Roma, Xabi Alonso from Real Sociedad, a world-class central defender and, they hope, Ruud van Nistelrooy from Manchester United.
Valdano is aware that the British media have been here before with Beckham - twice. At Christmas, a tabloid declined to extend the contract of a correspondent in Madrid because they were convinced Beckham would leave in the January transfer window.
Next, coinciding with the frenzy of headlines about his personal life, everybody in England assumed there was no way for Beckham to be happy other than returning to the country that had newspaper and television stories about his marriage every day for three weeks. On Friday, the publication of an article in a broadsheet created further agitation.
'Real Madrid prefer to distance themselves from all this talk,' said Valdano. 'It is this time of the year where there are more rumours than real stories. The fact remains that Beckham has signed a five-year contract with us and there is a buy-out clause in it [of €180 million, £126m] that anybody interested in signing Beckham must pay.'
The implication was that no one would come up with that sum,and it was not negotiable.
Real need money, especially as they may lose millions in a wrangle over the sale of their training ground. But they see Ronaldo and Figo, not to mention Morientes, Flavio, and Celades, as better opportunities for raising it.
As Madrid's most senior people know, there is a personal situation that Real and Beckham need to address, and they intend to do so. The England captain has to 'put his mind in order', as a source at the Bernabéu said, because his game has become affected by 'constant travelling and an excess of obligations'. The travelling is a difficulty, given that Beckham's wife and children will not be moving to Madrid, but Real are confident he will stay. Beckham's commercial commitments have been reduced drastically since he left the management company SFX last October.
Moving after only one season at Real Madrid would work against Beckham's own wishes and those of the club, and would have a negative effect on his image and CV, according to the Madrid source.
That view was backed up yesterday by Jimmy Greaves, one of England's best players of the 1960s, who left AC Milan after a short stay. 'He will be making the biggest mistake of his career if he comes back now,' said Greaves. 'He would be considered a failure.'
The biggest Madrid failure this season has been one of policy: using 'Zidanes y Pavons' (superstars and home-grown youngsters). They may yet win the Spanish title but they went out of the Champions League to Monaco after following Perez's policy.
That is going to change this summer with the addition of at least four new names. Totti will sign on a four-year contract, and a second galáctico could be Van Nistelrooy as Madrid, despite the denials from Manchester, seem confident the Dutchman is happy to move. Those two would be joined by a centre-back (Walter Samuel of Roma, Jorge Andrade of Deportivo, and Roberto Ayala of Valencia have been lined up) and by Xabi Alonso, the complete midfielder. Real have only €35 million to spend, so they will have to sell to buy.
Amid much fanfare, Pérez ended Madrid's huge debt with the controversial £270m sale and redevelopment of their training ground. But, nearly three years on, the deal is on hold because of civil aviation restrictions that may halve the height of four office blocks to be built on the site, leaving one £88m payment frozen.
Valdano recently admitted that the club had not bought a much needed centre-back last summer because 'there was no money available' - an admission not made at the time.
They need to sell at least one galáctico. Figo, after asking Perez to let him go, will try to move to England. And Ronaldo? Considered by some a negative influence for his 'unprofessional' approach - off the pitch - he could be the main source of money. As Valdano recently said to Sky Sports: 'We know Ronaldo has a price, the €180 million of his buy-out clause. To us Ronaldo has a huge strategic importance -but so does 180 million.'
He did not say the same about Beckham.

We will not trade Vieira for any player in the World!!!okjazz wrote:Ronaldo indicated a few months ago that he would have loved to play for Arsenal. But loud mouth Patrick Viera came out and said that Arsenal dont need Ronaldo.
If I were Wenger I would gladly trade Viera for Ronaldo. Imagine a forwardline with Ronaldo's finishing and Henry's playmaking abilities !
