Aghahowa seeks better treatment
-----------------------------------------------------

Aghahowa says travel arrangements have been poor
Striker Julius Aghahowa said he refused to travel to Portugal to join his colleagues for Nations Cup preparations because the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) had failed to buy him a business class air ticket.
"I have not travelled with an economy ticket before, so why now?," asked Aghahowa.

"I told them (NFA) I will pay my way to Faro but they turned down my request."

He said he would return to his Ukrainian club Shaktar Donetsk if the matter was not resolved this week.

"I have told them I will go back (to Ukraine) if it's not sorted out," he said.

NFA officials declined to comment on Thursday.

Aghahowa, known for his elaborate goal celebrations, is among the 41 Nigerian players invited to the Portuguese resort of Faro to prepare for the tournament, starting on 24 January in Tunisia.

Scoring a total of six goals in two previous Nations Cup tournaments - 2000 and 2002 - Aghahowa is expected to be a key player in the Super Eagles 22-man squad for the finals.

Nigeria have been drawn in Group D with debutants Benin Republic and former winners Morocco and South Africa for the first round group stage.
