Egypt has pulled out of all Arab football competitions
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has decided not to take part in any future Arab football competitions.
Two Egyptian clubs, Zamalek and Ismaili are currently taking part in the Arab Champions League while Al Ahly withdrew from the event in April.
The two sides will be allowed to continue playing in this year's event but no Egyptian clubs will be registered for the next edition of the competition that gets underway in September.
The EFA have also said that the national team will not play in the Arab Olympic competition which kicks off in Algeria later this year.
Essam Abdel Monem the president of the EFA says that the Arab events are not on the Fifa calendar.
"Arab football competitions do not exist on the Fifa calendar, our teams will not participate in them anymore," he said.
"We will allow our clubs to only participate in the Caf competitions."
"We have a very tight football schedule with the World Cup qualifiers ahead of us," Abdel Monem said.
Al Ahly withdrew from the Arab Champions League after they were told by the EFA that they wouldn't be allowed to use their international players in upcoming matches.
Zamalek and Ismaili are unhappy with the move and club officials have questioned the decision.
"The EFA has no right to force to participate in a competition or to ban us from another," Ibrahim Osman, Vice President of Ismaili club told BBC Sport.
"We will participate in both Arab and African competitions next year," he confirmed
However, Osman confessed that if his club is forced to choose between the two competitions, they will prefer to participate in the Arab Champions League.
"Running a club is like running a business, and the financial benefits from the Arab competitions are by far better than any other competition that we can take part in"
The winner of the Arab Champions League are set to win more than US $2 million dollars, which makes it the most lucrative competition in the region.

he has a point. If they dont make money, they close shop. plain and simple. Why do you think their football leagues are better than ours in terms of facilities ?
