Irate Argentine fans launch site to boot out Bielsa
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, June 8 (Reuters) - Irate Argentine national soccer fans have launched an Internet site to get rid of coach Marcelo Bielsa, who they accuse of taking "happiness" out of the Argentine side.
More than 5,000 people have left their opinions on the site http://www.echalo.com.ar (translated to English: firehim.com.ar), launched last Thursday after the 3-1 away defeat by Brazil in a World Cup qualifier.
A majority of visitors want Bielsa out and Boca Juniors coach Carlos Bianchi in.
"We want our Argentine football back, not the European style," site founder Javier Calandrelli, 32, told Reuters on Tuesday.
Julio Grondona, head of the Argentine Football Association, said on Monday, the day after a 0-0 draw at home against Paraguay, that Bianchi could become coach if Bielsa chooses to bow out.
Despite the recent weak performances, Argentina are in second place in the South American World Cup qualifying round with 12 points, one behind leaders Brazil.
