Cisse: 'I've joined Liverpool'

Auxerre striker Djibril Cisse has told the News of the World he has joined Liverpool in a £14million move, despite a late bid from Arsenal.

He is quoted as saying: ''I will play for Liverpool next season - I can say that at last. We have an agreement between all the parties involved.''

Arsene Wenger was reportedly unwilling to match Liverpool's offer - Cisse will pocket a £2.8million signing-on fee and will earn £40,000-a-week after tax.

Auxerre coach Guy Roux is quoted as saying: ''I think he made a very good choice. His game will go very well with Michael Owen.''
