Benin name squad

Oumar Tchomogo will captain the side
Benin coach Cecil Jones has announced the west African country's 22-man squad for the African Nations Cup which takes place in Tunisia.
Five local players are named in the side, which will be captained by France-based striker Oumar Tchomogo.

The Squirrels, as the Benin national team is known, join former champions Nigeria, Morocco and South Africa in Group D, which has been dubbed the 'group of death' by football experts.

Their opening match of the tournament is on 27 January against South Africa in Sfax.

Squad

Goalkeepers: Chitou Rachad (Dragons), Agueh Maxime (ASOA Valence, France)
Defenders: Tony Toklomety (Postel), Félicien Singbo (Lorient, France), Anicet Adjamonsi (Bordeaux, France), Adigo Dinalo (FC Shönberg 95, Germany), Sylvain Remy (Clermont, France), Samuel Emmanuel Suka (Liberty FC, Ghana), Moustapha Agnidé (Lorient, France), Damien Chrysostome (Padova, Italy), Seydath Tchomogo (Lions Atakora).
Midfielders: Jocelyn Ahouéya (Mogas 90), Romuald Bocco (FC Niort, France), Jonas Okétola (Dragons), Moussa Latoundji (Energie Cottbus, Germany), Moussoro Kabirou (Pau, France), Alain Gaspoz (Agran, Switzerland), Oladipupo Wassiou (JS Pobè)
Attackers: Laurent Djaffo (unattached), Rodrigue Akpakoun (unattached), Omar Tchomogo (Guingamp, France), Mouritala Ogunbiyi (Enyimba, Nigeria)

They are coached by the Ghanian coach Jones Atequafio who used all Hearts of oak players to play the Green eagles world cup qualifier(2002) led by okocha and finindi and taribo at Accra to a goaless draw game. They play very well as team.

I must confess I don't know much about Benin, but any team that wallops Zambia 3-0 deserves respect. I just hope our coach(God knows who it will be by the time the ANC kicks off :x ) has done his homework on Benin.

Benin might give us the hardest time, knowing Nigeria. They will play S.Africa and Morrocco will all their strength but take Benin lightly.
Support our boys regardless of coach, ethnicity of players and pure jealousy.

I think if we allow our bench tackle benin we will beat them easily...everyboday knows that the big boys never give thier all against teams they consider 2nd class(or even 3rd class in this case). Give some of the boys on the bench a chance to prove themselves...especially the strikers....

They normally play 4-4-2 formation using the wings a lot and their captain has game.
