Until proven, this is story remains unconfirmed, hence the need to state so. I will edit the thread title.
2 of the finest indigenous coaches Nigeria ever had lost in a space of 4 days. Dear Lord, is this a sign that you are taking away from us what we failed to appreciate? I pray for forgiveness of our sins. I pray for the humility to recognize our wrongs and the humbleness and wisdom to right our ways.
REST IN PEACE COACH STEPHEN KESHI!!! REST IN PEACE COACH AMODU SHAIBU!!!

Besides, JJ is the Bolton skipper, so he cannot afford to abandon his team in their hour of need.
I must say, things have been too quiet from the camps of these guys and I am beginning to get restless.
Time will tell by tomorrow, what is really happening.
so whats the big deal about that, hes a pro and hes going to play with pros.so pls let Okocha be

If JJ were to have been in camp all along, what could CCC have thought him that would make a difference? Or d'you think cos they've been in camp for some time means they would play any better football than in the past?
As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't just make a difference to me.
Everything had gone wrong with from the beginning starting with CCC.
A coach should be known for something good regarding his job.
Several ppl have postulated here b4 that even Sir Alex is not a fantastic tactician but a great manager while Wenger is the opposite.
I don't know which one or what CCC is good at. Can somebody tell me what CCC is good at?
And this is the crux of the matter: the players don't have confidence in CCC. Being in his camp for more than 2 wks is a waste of time. That is the reason as far as I am concerned for JJ and the likes' aparthy towards CCC. They are not against SE but have no confidence in CCC.
Whatever Amodu lacked, he made up with his tactical approach and whatever AO lacked, he made up for in his disciplinarian attitude; CCC is not even good at this. If AO were to be in charge (no prejudice pls) do you think JJ would still be playing AWOL and we know that in the days of Amodu or anyone it wasn't this bad. Afterall this is not the first ANC to be played mid ssn.

TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED...
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding...hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe
anointed,
...
Also camp is where the coach can drill the players on the tatical approach he wants to use...whether it is wing play abi possesion etc...well i could go on but it is not my job to write the tasks of the coach in camp...
But i agree with what u say about C3..the guy is not tatical nor disciplinary..as a result the players have less respect for him...even though i think it has to do more with the fact that he is a local coach...
...
Players dont go to camp to learn things...u go to camp so the coach can asses your fitness and know how to use u...if u people say that these players dont need to be in camp then why was one opened in the first place..C3 should just turn on his Tv, pick his 22 and then meet them at the stadium b4 the match...styles of play differ...u have to see which players play well together as well as build some team chemistry...If JJ were to have been in camp all along, what could CCC have thought him that would make a difference? Or d'you think cos they've been in camp for some time means they would play any better football than in the past?

It's funny when people are questioning the importance of the camp and if it's neccessary for certain pros to appear or not. If everybody follows Okocha's example, there won't be need for camping and all invited players might as well meet at the ANC venue to perfect strategies and team cohesion......nonsense.
I will prefer Nigeria to field 11 average but dedicated players at ANC who will play as a TEAM rather than 11 big stars who will exhibit good individual talents but fail miserably in front of cohesive teams like Senegal or Cameroon.
I Think CCC should close his camp now and choose from what he has at present....Westerhof called the bluff of the big guys in 1994 and used the young guys...the rest is history. Dropping players like Uche kalu and co for players who wanted to gate crash the camp at the last minute is criminal and shows that CCC feels he can only win the competition by assembling stars. We should learn from the 2000 and 2002 ANC that assembling stars no longer win the ANC.
Whether you use drill or whatever as in your 2nd para, it's all about learning. Don't attempt semantic distortion, Sir.
Local coaches have enjoyed some semblance of respect b4 now.

anointed, ok when i use drill it is about learning...of course C3 will have to teach okocha dem his game plan...and when u say C3 cannot teach okocha anything new then that means u are trying to say that okocha is tactically superior to C3..or maybe Okocha can read C3's mind and already knows his game plan...
It is this same attitude that the players have...the "i know more than any local coach"attitude...the players...like u, believe there is nothing to be gained from camp, so why open a camp in the first place? or even better why have a coach...NFA should just release a list of 22 and meet them at the Stadium b4 the first match...

When I spoke about the NFA throwing the books at Martins, I was called all sorts of names. This is one of the fall outs from having an NFA Sec. Gen. who is reluctant to apply the rules which are in his favor for personal considerations.
YUJAM
This has nothing to do with CCC. It is a crazy coach who drops his captain and top players under such circumstance.

Form is temporary; Class is Permanent!
Liverpool, European Champions 2005.
We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

well, folks there goes my own ANC 2004!
If Okocha does not report to camp before the end of this week, I will be pulling down his picture from my avatar. There's no sane way to justify this kind of behaviour. You cant serve two masters and obviously Bolton is his priority, but my connection to him is Naija. It's such a shame!

Never enter into a quarrel with an id!ot, lest he drag you down to his level and then beat you up with experience.

Of course, the story itself is shroudly in uncertainty.
However, if it is true then the FA must take action against Bolton. JJ should certainly be ashamed of this decision. For one, as a captain what exactly will he tell the other players about arriving in camp early or obeying camp rules when he has flouted those same rules? Clearly, his decision is a poor one considering that there is a FIFA edict to justify his being in camp 14 days to the tournament. While I understand his commitment to Bolton, one must also point out that such commitment to Nigeria is expected from him as well. Thus, the FIFA edict would have been the rule to measure his commitment to both sides.
I must say, however, that CCC cannot decline to include JJ on his team. As I said earlier there are core members of this team and it will be foolhardy and reckless not to include them. JJ is clearly one of those core members.

If there were no God, I would not be alive.
And if God is not good, I would have been dead.

Yemester where you don dey, you don go fast on top moutain for Paatriots or something Anyway meet me tommorow for other football thread.
Sorry about the non soccer related outburst If Okocha doesn't show tommorow then Nigeria has lost for years.
1 if he doesn't show until Tunisia, that would mean all the guys that were told to stay back coz they were late were unnecesarilly slighted, and hence Martins is justified in choosing when he wants to arrive on the National Scene, also those 2 boys that were gbished would be justified if they choose not to play for Nigeria in kwekwe games when they become the stars in 3 years.
2. If JJ doesn't show and his banned from the ANC, he gets mad, quits international football a few years early we lose in the 1st round of the ANC, CCC gets fired, another round robin of coach search begins and it is downhill for a couple of years and kpom the Unbelievable happens we miss the Next worldcup.
To be honest the only good sssolution is for JJ to show up on time, anything else is a backward move
And that's my Word

PapaK, there might be so underlying factors behind Oga's reluctance to be in camp early, therefore it is wise to hold back your sword just a little bit longer till the full story comes out.
