KANU FREE TO LEAVE ARSENAL
Reported in UK Daily. ARSENAL star Kanu has been told he would not be offered a new contract when his current deal expires this summer -but the Gunners still want him to solve their striker crisis by reporting late for the African Nations Cup. Arsene Wenger has told him his £45000 a week deal will not be renewed and he will be allowed to leave on a Bosman Free. But Wenger has now pleaded with Kanu to get permission from Nigeria to join up after next Sunday,s trip to Aston Villa -just six days before the start of the African Nations Cup. Boss Wenger is left with only two fit strikers-Kanu and Thierry Henry.
