What if the Yugoslavia national team existed today?

If the former Yugoslavia team existed today, they would have one devastating team.


Yugoslavia 23 (imo):

Goalkeepers:
Handanovic
Pletikosa
Begovic

Defenders:
Vidic
Ivanovic
Pranjic
Srna
Subotic
Kolarov
Corluka

Midfielders:
Modric
Stankovic
Krasic
Kranjcar
Misimovic
Kuzmanovic
Pjanic
Jovetic

Forwards:
Dzeko
Vucinic
Pandev
Olic
Ibisevic


That is a squad that is as good as any in the world. Only problem is that I think the midfield would be too attack-heavy, but what an attack. :drool:

Yup. As I keep explaining, we simply never had real unity and ethnic politics always prevented selecting the best team.

We'll get our act back together in Croatia. We've been doused with cold water in not making it to the WC. There has been a huge backlash against the Croatian FA and players. There's also a resurgence of pride seeing that Slovenia and Serbia made it, but we didn't.

Nevertheless, we've got a long way to go. Our talent is formidable, but our players are typical Balkan players: lazy, arrogant, and given to doing something stupid in a game.

Sounds familiar, eh?

they would choke as usual. just look at Serbia. going from Beating Germany to losing to Australia.
