Gameweek 22
This week Pundit looks at players departing for the African Nations Cup and the implications of the transfer window.

African Nations Exodus
Fantasy Managers should be aware that some of their squad players will be missing from the 24th January until the 14th February due to the African Nations Cup in Tunisia. Players committed to the tournament are: Kanu (Arsenal), Cisse (Birmingham), Okocha (Bolton), Babayaro & Geremi (Chelsea), Yobo (Everton), Sakho & Olembe (Leeds), Diao & El-Hadji Diouf) Liverpool, Djemba-Djemba (Manchester United), Lua Lua (Newcastle), Yakubu (Portsmouth), Kanoute & Mabizela (Tottenham), Camara & Okoronkwo (Wolves). Managers should arrange their teams accordingly.

Transfer Window
The January transfer window means that some players will be moving from one Premier League club to another, which could spell potential problems for Fantasy Managers. Teams that already contain the maximum amount of players (3) from one team, could end up with 4 unknowingly. The team will continue to gain points as normal, until the Manager attempts to make a transfer, when the system will remind you that you have too many players from one team. At this point, you must transfer out one of the transcending players.

Budweiser Team of the Week
Gameweek 21's Team of the Week is one that not a lot of Fantasy Managers would have picked as their first team. Of course there are some usual suspects - Arsenal's midfield maestro's Robert Pires and Freddie Ljungberg, who both scored a goal each. They are joined in midfield by Bolton's Kevin Nolan, who scored an important 2 goals in his team's victory over Blackburn and Portsmouth's Patrik Berger who is returning to form at the right time with 2 assists. Paul Jones was a new signing in goal for Liverpool and certainly made a good impression with a clean sheet and bonus points. In defence, Celestine Babayaro of Chelsea scored, got an assist and a clean sheet, Birmingham's Jeff Kenna also scored a goal and a bonus and Mauricio Tarrico of Tottenham made the team for an assist and a clean sheet. Up front Yakubu showed why Portsmouth will miss him when he leaves to play for his country by scoring 2 goals and bonus points. He is joined by Charlton's Jason Euell who also scored a brace and bonus points and finally Bolton's Youri Djorkaeff who scored a goal and a bonus.
You can view the full team here.

Top of the League
Steve Kaj and his team KAJ FC are still top of the league but only by 4 points. High scoring players for KAJ FC, apart from those mentioned in the Team of the Week (Pires and Berger), were Thierry Henry of Arsenal who by being team captain doubled his 9 points to 18, Leeds midfielder Jermaine Pennant who scored bonus points and Portsmouth defender Arjan de Zeeuw who also scored bonus points.
"History shows that this club has had very few strikers like him. I do not know if there has ever been anyone like him before. What I do know is that Barcelona should erect a statue for him. Samuel was a fundamental player here in recent years and was key to all of the titles that the team won."

Andres Iniesta, August 2009
