..I guess since Falcao don fashi us(his heart is with Madrid so this whole Monaco thing na possible escape route since Athletico no dey sell to Real), Cavani too expensive and Lewandowski likely to end up @ Bayern we go manage Rooney.. ..I just hope his form hasn't dipped because we need to be suspect of other premiership teams eager to sell us their "stars"..na so we buy Torres and Benayoun...well..I guess as long as we're not buying from Liverpool.....we STILL need a TOP striker..

Very surprising. Couple days back, Bayern were favourites, shortest odds, 4/1, Chelsea have come in at 2s straight away today...Could that be a suggestion that things are happening in the background already. One site has cut them down to 3/2. Rooney, Hazard, Mata. Chei! #Arsenal chasing Freddy Bobic and the other part of Gervinho's forehead.

If he still has the desire, Fat Wayne would be a good acquisition.

....I dont know why I feel like missing out on Falcao remains a major loss considering other targets of equal/like status may end up elsewhere...Lewa to Bayern/Cavani to City(for 52MP which is about 70M Euros honestly they can have him..I wont pay over 35MP for him..40MP tops with a gun cocked to my head)...who else is out there?Rooney is NOT a 9...so are we gonna be stuck wiff Torres AGAIN? :curse:

Forget the glitch in the matrix that was Andy Carroll...and Fernando Torres for that matter [glitches]. Anybody paying over 30 for Cavani is a fully qualified spastic. Radamel is a finisher and would be a good signing for anyone, but the price tag is rumoured to be ridiculous. With Rooney having stated his desire to leave, he'll have slashed his asking price by 10 or so million. United cant get full price for him now, he's a disgruntled player who wants out. Add to that his extraordinary wages, they wont want someone on a quarter of a mill a week, jogging with the ressies. Chelsea should start the bidding nice and low, force their hand, anything over 20 is ridiculous. That saves 20 or 30 off the Falcao price and allows for a proper right-back to be signed and solid centre-mid.

That said, Aryan Schuurle's apparently been signed, so unless Torres is out, too many spoons...

Paj is a nuisance indeed.

1) Dude has never watched the redundant De Bruyne play, yet he is crying for him. Smh

2) Dude has never seen the overhyped isco play, yet he wants him. smdh

3) Could thinks Rooney can be likened to Torres. Just, WOW!

..LOOKS LIKE CHELSEA HAS NOT ENTIRELY GIVEN UP ON FALCAO BUT HAVE A PLAN B JUST IN CASE..

Talking Italian: Chelsea keeping Napoli's Edinson Cavani on the back-burner just in case
14 May 2013 22:30 Atletico Madrid's Radamel Falcao still tops Blues' shopping list but they could be outbid on fee and wages by Monaco

Chelsea have sounded out Napoli about Edinson Cavani - in case they miss out on No.1 target Radamel Falcao.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has been in London to discuss Cavani - and is also looking at Chelsea legends Roberto Di Matteo and Gianfranco Zola in terms of potential returns to their homeland to manage the Serie A side next season.

The Blues believed a £50million deal for Atletico Madrid superstar Falcao was close a fortnight ago, but mega-rich Monaco have now made a move and are ready to pay the Colombian a staggering £8m-a-year after tax.

Uruguayan striker Cavani is a man in demand this season, as Manchester City are also very keen - manager-in-waiting Manuel Pellegrini fancies him and Malaga forward Isco.

But Chelsea are desperate for a superstar striker to boost their firepower next season.

They are still in for Falcao but are also monitoring Cavani, who would cost around £40m.

Napoli's interest in Di Matteo and Zola comes because there are doubts about the future of current manager Walter Mazzarri.

Zola is a Napoli legend and would be welcomed back as a hero by the fans, but is currently busy plotting Watford's return to the Premier League via their Championship play-off final against Crystal Palace on May 27.

Currently unemployed Di Matteo, sacked by Chelsea last November, turned down possible openings at Southampton and Reading to wait for a bigger job, in the belief the Champions League winner's medal on his CV should earn him an opportunity.

Interesting, from 2/1, Chelsea are now 5/2 on to land Rooney. Though they share the same probability as Bayern (5/2), Chelsea's odds have lengthened, whilst Bayern's have fallen.

Too much risk with Cavani, another weighty outlay, they'll surely pursue a player plus cash option.

Manchester United's Wayne Rooney not a Bayern Munich transfer target

Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer insists his club have no interest in signing Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson revealed at the weekend that Rooney had made a transfer request, heightening speculation over the England international's future.

German champions Bayern have been amongst a number of clubs linked with Rooney but Sammer has firmly denied any interest.

"I don't know what Rooney would bring to the Bundesliga," Sammer is quoted by the Daily Telegraph. "I can't answer that.

"I can answer that we have great respect for Wayne Rooney but there has been no contact with him.

"He's not on the agenda. No, no. Absolutely not."
