TUNIS (AFP) - Cameroon skipper Rigobert Song believes that his men can turn a double tragedy into a glittering triumph as the Indomitable Lions chase a record fifth African Nations Cup.

Song said on Thursday that the death last year of teammate Marc Vivien Foe and the tragic road accident which claimed the life of the wife of Cameroon legend Roger Milla earlier this month will be the team's inspiration.

"We are even more motivated this time round because of the terrible things that have happened," said Song as Cameroon chase a third successive African crown.

"It has been a bad year with the death of Foe and Milla's wife. Marc Vivien is always with us and is still part of us. We always think of him.

"We will have a special thought for them over the next few weeks.

"We are also motivated by having the chance to win a fifth Nations Cup and we do not want to disappoint our fans."

Song added that the standard of football was so high on the continent that this year's Nations Cup will be the toughest yet.

"African football is very strong now but we will fight to stay on top. It will be a struggle but we have the greatest respect for all the teams here."

Not suprised bcos the captain plays around ganja too much-------he was caught for this interview during smoke recess.

The same mouth during the WC and it only lasted 1st round----we see when the whistle goes off----
For a child of God, silence in the face of problem is an act of ignorance
