Imenger - His brace saved Lobi Lobi Stars forward Barnabas Imenger has emerged as Nigeria league star of Week 38.

His brace helped Lobi Stars stay afloat in the top flight as they beat back-to-back champions Kano Pillars 2-0 at home.

Imenger was picked ahead of Akwa United's Abasiama Michael, who scored the goal that rescue his side from relegation as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Kwara United and top scorer Victor Namo, who scored his 18th goal of the season to ensure Nasarawa escape relegation.

Imenger told MTNFootball.com he was thrilled Lobi Stars have escaped relegation.

"I feel great now because we survived relegation, and being the person who scored both goals makes me feel good. I am so happy the goals came through me."

He revealed that his role model is Kaka of AC Milan and Brazil.

"My role model is Kaka. I love his personality and the way he plays. He is a great player I admire," he remarked.

Imenger scored seven goals this season.

"I didn't play football because my father played, it runs in the blood. It is in my DNA," he said.
