The technical committee of Kano Pillars will on Monday draw up a shortlist of coaches to take over the Nigerian champions following the departure of Mohammed Babaganaru.

Babaganaru has sensationally left for Nasarawa United after he won Pillars the League championship back-to-back this past season. He claims he was pushed out of the club by some top officials who did not appreciate his contribution to the team.

Pillars have accepted his resignation and have now tasked their technical committee to shop for a replacement immediately.

“The technical committee will meet on Monday to draw up a short list of coaches to be considered for the position vacated by Babaganaru,” disclosed Pillars spokesman Idris Malikawa.

Abdu Maikaba, who is on a coaching course at National Institute for Sports (NIS), will remain as Pillars’ No 2 coach.

Recently, former Nigeria coach Samson Siasia has been linked with the top coaching post at Pillars, with chairman Abba Yola describing him as “a friend of the house”.

Siasia has not held a coaching position since he was sacked by Nigeria in October 2011.
