^Adam was a compound fool and a perfect id*ot. He knew very well what he was doing, he saw the pot, heard the crackle of the fire beneath it's pan, danced with the sweet aromas browmian motioning towards olfactory bulbs, seeing no more than a meal for his carnal concupiscence. Was it not in a garden rich in worldly delights, succulent soursop, piquant paw paws, pomes of passion and yet none was deemed sweeter than that forbidden. Just as Eve plucked the apple, Adam, ironically, desired the flesh of the fruit in full knowledge of the faux-pas. A devil on both shoulders reassuring him of his right to enjoy, the inevitability of sexuality and ephemeral nature of chastity. "The belt is there to be broken Adam...if it were not to be, would the kiss not have been bittermost and the breasts, coarse or inchoate...go on, who will blame you". He listened. The Devil is a liar.

Verdict: N*nce.

Chief I usually agree with your take on most things but in this case I feel only the man who wore the shoe knows where it pinched most. We will never
Know the full story and as such let's spare a thought for Adam, it could be your son, brother, cousin etc. I know how these teenage British girls van be conniving little ba*tards at times
Did you say spare a thought? I spared a thought for him alright, only if he spared a thought for himself, his girlfriend and the poor little daughter who will be visiting his dada in prison. No Adam needed to spare a thought for himself, the only thought i can spare him is one which sees me raining dirty slaps on him for messing it all up. Grooming an underage girl for sex is a serious crime and the only thought i have left to spare is to imagine i was the father of the girl in which case i would hire a dane gun and blow away a rich brat who God blessed with everything and he uses it to to prey on vulnerable kids.

And now you try to blame the girl even when Adam has already acknowledged his crime, dude are you serious?

What's really surprising is dat he plead guilty after all the denial and continuing to play for Sunderland. The guy is so reckless, he could have gotten Sunderland in big trouble. Already their chief has resigned. It may also be that Sunderland knew he wasn't innocent but felt he hadn't been convicted yet so they played him.

The normal thing is to deny ofcourse it buys him time to see if the case can be settled out of court. And of course the club would probably have tried to help him consideeing he is one of their best players and they are battling relegation. That would probably explain why the CEO became a victim of the sad ordeal. Deep i was hoping he would be able to save his career but at some time we all have to face rhe consequences of our actions.

The girl's family must be very principled to stick to their guns.

Johnson is 27-28yo. By the time he gets out of prison he will be physically and reputationally unable to play top flight football ever again. His career is over. I wonder - did the girl give evidence against him?

Child grooming is befriending and establishing an emotional connection with a child, and sometimes the family, to lower the child's inhibitions for child sexual abuse.[1] It lures minors into trafficking of children, illicit businesses such as child prostitution, or the production of child pornography.[2][3][4]

This crime has been proscribed in various ways since the International Convention for the Suppression of the Traffic in Women and Children, which was agreed in 1921 as a multilateral treaty of the League of Nations that addressed the problem of international trafficking of women and children for nefarious purposes. The proscribed traffic was international in nature at that time. The concept of localised grooming, in which gangs of reprobates groom neighbourhood victims, was devised in 2010 by the UK Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre.[5]

Wow. He might not even get released early for good behavior given his profile as a public figure. He will be on the sex offenders register for the rest of his life.

Adam Johnson sentenced to six years in prison for child sex offences

Adam Johnson has been sentenced to six years in prison for child sex offences.

The 29-year-old former England and Sunderland player was sentenced by Judge Jonathan Rose at Bradford Crown Court on Thursday.

Johnson was found guilty on March 2 of one count of sexual activity with a child and cleared of one further count. He had previously pleaded guilty to two other charges of kissing and grooming the girl, who was 15 at the time of the offences.

The court was told by defence QC Orlando Pownall that Johnson had been stripped of his 12 England caps, but Sky Sports News HQ understands that the Football Association has not discussed the issue.

He has been ordered to pay £50,000 in prosecution costs alone and has signed the sex offenders register, where he will remain for the rest of his life. He has a restraining order against the victim.

The prosecutor told the court that Johnson's actions involved "a considerable amount of planning" and that the only mitigating factor should be his lack of any previous convictions.

The defence asked the judge to give a "proportionate" sentence and not "get carried away". They also asked the fact that Johnson had been stripped of a lucrative career that he will never resurrect be taken into account.

Johnson arrived at court around 9.45am on Thursday and the hearing began at 10.30am before statements were read out by the victim and her mother.

The victim, who was reported in court to have taken an "intentional overdose" during the trial, said "it has had and continues to have a massive impact on my life" and admits she is still being subjected to bullying. The mother said their family "take no satisfaction in how this has affected Adam Johnson, his family, and football fans".

The court also heard from a therapist who assessed Johnson, and he said the player has not been able to talk about what he had done because of his shame. The therapist said he posed a "low to medium risk" of re-offending.

Johnson is also willing to enter a treatment program to make sure he does not offend again, the court heard.

The NSPCC have written to the FA to make sure clubs are fully aware of child protection issues.

"Adam Johnson's behaviour throughout this sordid affair was horrifying, inexcusable and made worse by his not guilty pleas which forced his victim to suffer the harrowing experience of giving evidence in court.

"But this was not only about one rogue player. It was also about a club that seemingly did not have child protection priorities embedded in its culture. It was worrying that child safeguarding took second place to getting results on the pitch. That can never be allowed to happen again at any club."

Wow. Some of the court records are saying they found animal porn on his computer and that he regularly met women for sex on the bonnet of his car.

Ex-footballer Adam Johnson loses child sex case appeal

Ex-England footballer Adam Johnson has lost a Court of Appeal challenge against his conviction for sexual activity with a schoolgirl.

The 29-year-old was jailed for six years last March for sexually touching and grooming the 15-year-old fan.

The former Sunderland player was refused leave to appeal his conviction and sentence in July and launched a second bid.

Three judges rejected the latest appeal and a bid to reduce his sentence.

Johnson admitted grooming the girl and one charge of sexual activity before his trial at Bradford Crown Court.

Jurors found him guilty of sexual touching, but not guilty on a charge relating to another sexual act.

The court heard the sexual activity with the girl happened in the footballer's Range Rover in January 2015, after he had groomed her using social media apps.

Johnson first contacted the girl while his partner Stacey Flounders was pregnant

At sentencing the judge told the former winger - who had played 12 times for England - he had "every opportunity" to enter guilty pleas to the charges he finally admitted.

He said there had been had "an abuse of trust" and he had caused his victim "severe psychological harm".

At the appeal hearing, Eleanor Laws QC argued against her client's conviction on the grounds the trial judge "misdirected" the jury on issues of his "credibility".

'All move on'

However, Lady Justice Rafferty, Mr Justice Sweeney and the Record of Sheffield, Judge Julian Goose, disagreed and said while the trial judge made an "error" regarding a direction during summing up, "it did not imperil the safety of the conviction".

It was also argued the sentence was too harsh as the judge was "was clearly highly influenced by the fact that the applicant was a famous and successful footballer and, in fact, counted that against him."

But the ruling by the previous appeal judge, who had said though the sentence "may be stiff, even severe, I do not consider it... manifestly excessive", was upheld.

Durham Police said in a statement: "This has been a protracted case for the victim and, indeed, everyone connected to it.

"Hopefully this will now draw a line under it and we can all move on."
