I knew Rangers had what it took to win the league this year. After how many decades?
Winners do it the right way.

About time Rangers stepped up, we are tired of having that cup in Aba!! Best to give it a break for some time but y'all don't get used to it,it's going to be coming back where it belongs after you have had a feel of it.

Imama Amapakabo has been trending all week in the media. He was on Supersport Monday Night Football and just today, i saw him on channels. Success is sweet oo. I won't be surprised if Rivers tempt him home with oyel money.

The good thing is that it is in their hands. Win in Jos and they escape, drop points and they depend on results elsewhere, one of which is Warri vs Ikorodu. Almost a certainty that Warri will win so Heartland had better come correct in Jos if they want to survive. Anyway, it wouldn't be a bad thing for them to drop out so that Enugu Rangers will be the only team never to have played outside the top division. The Eagle wrote:Rather exciting finish to the season, isn't it?ukwala wrote:

KATSINA UNITED BACK IN NIGERIA TOP LEAGUE AFTER 14-YEAR ABSENCE

Katsina United will feature in the Nigeria premier league next year after 14 years following promotion on Saturday.
Katsina, who were known as Katsina spotlight last season, won 1-0 at home against Kogi United on Saturday to beat closest rivals Mighty Jets, who lost 3-1 at Jigawa Golden Stars of Dutse.
Katsina thus finished on 27 points from 14 matches, while Mighty jets were runners-up in Division A1.
Katsina, who in their glory years lined up top internationals like Dahiru Sadi, Eric Ejiofor and Victor Ogundsanya, are now owned by the Katsina State Government.
They were bankrolled by former NFF boss Abdulmumini Aminu at their peak.
Jigawa’s home win against Jets ensured their safety in the NNL.

FC TARABA FALL TO AMATEUR LEAGUE AFTER PLAYING IN NPFL 2 SEASONS AGO

FC Taraba will play in Nigeria’s amateur league next year after they were demoted from the country’s top league only two seasons ago.
Today, the Jalingo club were demoted from the Nigeria National League to see them slide to non-league football.
Other NNL clubs going down include Yarmalight and Shakarau Babes, who are promptly returning to non-league football after a season in the second-tier division.
Supreme Court will also go down after they lost 3-1 at home to promoted Gombe United this afternoon.
Supreme Court have featured in the NNL for four seasons.
General manager Tolulope Oguntimehin promised they will bounce back to the NNL.
“We hope to come back immediately,” he vowed.
“We lost it when a good number of our players left for greener pastures after we featured in a pre-season tournament in Ijebu-Ode.”

Congratulations to Rangers, and special thanks to Wikki for keeping FCIfeanyiBlahBlah from continental qualification. Now to see that they don't make it into Africa from the Federation Cup . In my opinion, our representation in the continental competitions next year will be stronger than this year's.Enugu II wrote:CHAMPIONS LEAGUEEnugu II wrote: Pillars Tornadoes 1-1 FT

What a strange year this is, with Uganda qualifying for the Nations Cup and Spartans/Nationale/Heartland being relegated. I suppose top division football remaining in Lagos is theoretically a financially useful trade-off.
Wishing speedy recovery to the Rangers player Ifeanyi Egwim.
Dikko and the LMC have done well. Sure, there is room for improvement, but Rome .... er Abuja was not built in a day.

Re: The 2016 Nigerian Premier League
Giwa FC, for all intents and purposes, does not exist anymore. The club's players have been signed to other clubs, and the club's management is more interested (for now anyway) in litigating the NPFL/LMC decision to expel them.
Will there be one fewer club in the NNL (Division Two), or will an additional club from the third tier be given promotion to compensate for Giwa FC's erasure?
