The only south american team to go the olympics and come back with laurels was uruguay who did it twice i the 2o's and thirties......Nobody has been to the promise land since. Besides, it is good to see others from south america go besides the usual brazil/argentina tandem...........

There are some reports from some quaters about Brazil complaining they should have been giving the automatic berth to WC 2006 based on their win in last WC... There is pressure among the players and officials that the COMMENBOL zone is now a hot zone with everyone now on equal terms and playing their best soccer and know just like last time when they struggled if they going through that same stretch again Brazil might miss out of the world cup 2006.
FIFA making the champions to qualify was big wrong decision and should have left things the way they were, this decision is going to back fire at some point in time and don't be surprised if Brazil doesn't make it to Germany 2006...
