It is so funny because I read so much rubbish here when it was first announced as City's Coach. I tried to caution against all that Pep talk, but the usual suspects were so set in their mentality, there was no point in making them see reason. For example, Yujam talked about Pep coming to civilise the EPL    but with him, I understand he made his statement because of his irrational hatred for anything English. Others were just excited. But, people here should stop yabbing like he invented football.

I read something from a Liverpool supporter who got angry when it was claimed Pep needs to buy his own players. He pointed out, Pep has spent over £120m net already, while Klop has only spent £9m net. I think Pep arrogantly thought with the resources at his disposal, it will be a cake walk, he could end up paying for that arrogance with his job.

Do you remember reading this? :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:
YUJAM wrote:At this rate, Pep is going to force a fundamental change in the way football is played in England.

Like I said before, he will single handedly revolutionize the way football is played in the EPL.

Teams are being made to look stupid by his City side

I said it before but our short-sighted clown laughed at me ;-)

when The Revolution was on his 6-game winning streak, ChICken was so giddy, even lying to his flock about 'The Revolution has never had such a league start'

the wheels started falling off, suddenly the tune changed to he needs players who can pass the ball

One would think Conte has had 3 years in The Best League

Football fans can be so annoying. Pep could win 10 in a row and these threads and it's cheerleaders would disappear but when he loses one they come out of hiding and start throwing smilies everywhere. Guys, it's only half the season gone, let's wait until the end of the season to see how he does before we start judging.

You cannot be serious.

The fact is, way before a ball was kicked we all knew the annoying football fans. The fans, maybe like you, who talked of Pep as the 'football messiah'. Now you claim it's half the season, which is a reasonable position to take under most circumstances, but unfortunately, when you and your pals were going gaga over Pep before a ball was kicked, none of you thought of being reasonable.

Even during Pep's blazing start, people were pointing out that City started very well with winning streaks during Pellegrini's last 2 seasons there.
Caution is all that many of us were calling for on this thread, amidst all the premature noises of football revolution.

Nice try but I did say it will take a while to get this team playing the way he wants.

@Piff, it was always going to be a tall order, said that from the door. City were a war weakened Roman Empire, more than one too many haggard centurions, bruised and bent-boned by elephant stampedes. Aside from their name and notoriety, there was no more than a shadow of their former-self, much like a hip replaced Ronnie Coleman strutting a slow motion antalgic gait on a treadmill, with supporting zimmer frame, screaming yeahhhh buddy! They invested heavily in tomorrow's world and not nearly enough, correctly, in today's. From the get go, the genius of Peperende cut him away from mainland, to exist as an island of his own, an oasis of tactical innovation. Guardiola, through no insistence of his own, is viewed as the fore-thinker, the great mind lightyears ahead of his peers and on English soil, an other worldly anachronism. Only from the future.

To see his methods tussle, toil and at times, be toppled with such consummate ease, has raised eyebrows and called many to, undeservedly question all that has passed. Are his struggles with City at the half-mark proof that, sans the best, he is far from that? Absolutely not, there are few things in contest more difficult than maintaining supremacy. City were on the decline, a fact overlooked by all who envisioned the Catalan emerging from a phonebox on Maine Road in light blue spandex with an S emblazoned across the chest. It was always going to be tough, but one would assume, having known of his intention to take over long before the season's end, Guardiola had planned his assault on the Premiership for some time. Can it be argued that City purposefully left their transfer dealings incomplete, or did they misjudge the terrain and assume they'd done enough?

Drawing swords with the media does no more than toughen the going. Already a disconnect is being fabricated between Peperende and the crowd, add to that suggestions of difficulty motivating the players vs Liverpool and t'is clear to see the web being spun by those nihilistic tarantulas, tabloid and broadsheet. The water is getting deep and the fog thick. T'is in his best interests to get back to doing what he does best and forget the sideshow. There are many more rounds to go, puffy eyed and bloody-nosed, whether he'll go the distance may soon become a reasonable ask.

Pep said Bournemouth are the best side they've played so far and the rest just played long balls. Could be a dig at you-know-who.

The Football Revolutionary after dropping 2 points at home to Liverpool, once again claimed that missed chances cost his team the game, like at Monaco.
The other teams' chances don't seem to matter much to this revolutionary, neither does his defence conceding goals

It is astonishing how he has wrecked the deadliest striker in the EPL! Aguero is no longer as scary as he used to be!!

Aguero's confidence is going, i don't understand why, especially under such a revolutionary manager.
Apart from Sterling, which other player from the bunch he found has improved ?
I also note that most of Pep's buys are on the sidelines, some like Nolito not being picked these days.
