Congo is a different beast from the one Egypt played.
I wish them luck.

We will demoralize them in Ghana (like we did to Ethiopia) and finish them off in Brazzaville

My prediction
  • Ghana 4-0 Congo
    Egypt 2-0 Uganda
    Congo 1-2 Ghana
Going into the last round of matches, this is what the table will look like
  • Egypt 4 9
    Ghana 4 7
    Uganda 4 7
    Congo 4 0

Egypt will most likely pull off the typical North African home antics to win the return leg with the typical "laser in the eye" shenanigans North African teams are notorious for...so Uganda had better come mentally prepared...as for Ghana, they now have a life line as the group is now anybody's for the taking, a victory tomorrow will put them in very good standing, all the best to Nigeria and Ghana tomorrow!

Egypt do not joke with "minors", i.e. I expect them to collect max points at home and away against Congo & Uganda
Ghana tend to play poorly against minors

That's life, everything can change.

I remember a conversation that I had in 2002 with my Ghanaian Friend, dude was talking about how great Nigeria was to qualify for the world cup, and even though we had a rivalry, Ghana just didn't have what it took to qualify.

Little did he know that 2006, and later on 2010 was on the way. That was just four years from that conversation.

In Football you are only as good as your last battle, you have to keep fighting on. You can slip up, you can ascend.
Buhari, whose two terms thankfully ground to a constitutional halt in May. (One thing both democracies have going for them is that their leaders, however bad, have only two terms to swing the wrecking ball.) Under Buhari, growth per head also plunged to 0. An economic agenda drawn from the dusty pages of a 1970s protectionist handbook failed to do the trick. Despite Buhari’s promise to tame terrorism and criminality, violence flourished. Despite his reputation for probity, corruption swirled. FT

You have to give credit to Congo Brazzaville.

I told Rawlings that Congo Ghana would face was better than the Congo, Egypt played.

I know football is not one of Uganda's strong pursuit but how do you account for Congo with zero point when then they drew with Ghana? :sneaky:
