Moses is really enjoying his defensive role this season.

The Data Day: Chelsea v Bournemouth
NEWS TUE 27 DEC 2016

We take a statistical look back at yesterday’s win…

We had 14 shots to Bournemouth’s seven. Five of our efforts were on target. Goalscorers Pedro and Eden Hazard had five shots apiece.

We created nine chances, but Bournemouth were the only side to create what Opta deem a ‘big’ chance, when Thibaut Courtois saved excellently from Benik Afobe.

Although we only had 44 per cent possession, we enjoyed 52 per cent of the territory, suggesting much of Bournemouth’s time on the ball came in unthreatening areas.

Indeed, our opponents completed 508 passes to our 399, but in the attacking third of the pitch we made 149 to their 111. Inside the box, we completed six more passes (15) than the Cherries.

Nemanja Matic (54) and Cesc Fabregas (52) were our top passers, followed closely by Gary Cahill (49) and Hazard (48). Matic to Cahill and Pedro to Hazard were our most frequent passing combinations.

Three-quarters of Hazard’s successful passes came in the final third (36), 10 more than any other player.

We completed three times as many take-ons overall (27), with Hazard responsible for 13, Willian six and Pedro five.

We made 53 ball recoveries. Victor Moses, Marcos Alonso and Matic were each responsible for a game-high eight.

We also made more successful interceptions (24 to 10), clearances (13 to 12) and tackles (13 to 11) than Bournemouth. Moses and David Luiz were our top tacklers, winning the ball on three occasions, while Cesar Azpilicueta intercepted the ball on more occasions (six) than anyone else.

We have now set an outright club record of 12 consecutive league wins.

:boo: you see why you will remain an African hater, why not compare Hazard and Pedro cabinets and tell me who has more and why the other is getting more paid.
If trophy is the reason for pay why is Mikel not one of Chelsea most paid players since he has better cabinet than Hazard,Costa,Willians etc

I'm an African hater?    Dude..Pedro and Moses were BOTH considered surplus requirements by their coaches at one time or the other...but Pedro has played for BARCA CONSISTENTLY FOR A WHILE....Hazard is indispensable to CFC......I thought AA said U graduated? :rotf:

Really good. No need to go pay 25M pounds for some Rodriguez.

Ake can play several positions too.

I honestly dont even believe Chelsea should be buying anyone unless a world class option like Griezmann becomes available. We could also get one more CM as two have left..and that's it. We have so many youth players ready to come in for the 1st teamers it's ridiculous. The crap about us loaning out Batshuayi for Loriente..for what? Loriente go dey siddon for bench eh?Will we lose Batshuayi like we did Lukaku too, though he aint whining like Lukaku did?
