Guardiola changed Bayern Munich from exciting to boring - Schmeichel

Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel has added fuel to the fire for this weekend's Manchester derby by suggesting that Pep Guardiola transformed an exciting Bayern Munich team into a boring one to fit his tactical approach to the game.

Under Guardiola's guidance, Bayern won three consecutive Bundesliga titles along with the DFB-Pokal twice.

Having taken over from Jupp Heynckes, who took Bayern to the treble -- Champions League, Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal -- the Spanish coach failed to win the Champions League in his time there.

"He was okay at Bayern Munich. I have to say he was okay," Schmeichel told Omnisport.

"For me, personally, he changed a really good, entertaining team to be become more boring to watch.

"Whereas Bayern before were very direct, they won the treble, had quick players and were exciting to watch, he [Guardiola] made them play more square. He changed the players, but you can't argue with his results."

Since taking charge at Manchester City, the Spaniard has won his opening three Premier League matches, but the ex-Denmark goalkeeper is unsure if Guardiola can replicate his renowned possession game in England, like he did with Barcelona and Bayern.

"With Pep, he comes in with an incredible reputation. What he did with Barcelona was fantastic, his work was fantastic, but he was also very lucky he had the players to bring in the philosophy that he has in football," Schmeichel added.

"So whereas [former United manager] Alex Ferguson's first priority was 'we have to be able to score goals' -- for most coaches that's the priority -- with Pep it's possession, I want to have as much possession as possible.

"So the philosophy goes to 'I want to have so much possession that at some point we'll score a goal from that, the goals will come from possession' and that's his philosophy.

"That's what we'll see at Manchester City or he's going to introduce that. He was very lucky he had the players at Barcelona but he was clever in what he did.

"The Premier League is a completely different animal to any other in the world. It just goes on and on and on, you feel it never stops, even in March you have 12 games to go, you think: 'Will this ever stop?'"

The two Manchester clubs will go face to face at Old Trafford on Saturday, a first Manchester derby for both Jose Mourinho and Guardiola, who have a longstanding history of bad blood from their time in the La Liga.

So the 'great Dane' has to tell it for you to believe it?

We've all seen the type of football City has played this season. Unless you don't trust your own understanding of the game, the quality of their football has been very apparent :-)

This is not because he has a brilliant understanding of football. “Ferguson is not a genius,” writes his biographer Patrick Barclay. Brian Clough was a better judge of players; José Mourinho is a better tactician. As Peter Schmeichel, United’s former goalkeeper, said: “There are thousands of better coaches. But management? The handling of men? There’s nobody better."

Of course, he was lucky at Barca to have Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, etc. Which coach wouldn't be "lucky" to have them? And he somehow was not "unlucky" that Ribery and Robben were hampered with injuries at Bayern.

United seem to be putting too much into press war on Pep. If it is not Zlatan, it is ex players. They should do the talking on the pitch. Beginning to lose class by focusing on attacking the coach's personality and his records.

Ghana
The Tallensi, the Akyim's, the Kokis, and the Yaakuma, one of many cultures of Ghana, consider dog meat a delicacy. While the Mamprusi generally avoid dog meat, it is eaten in a "courtship stew" provided by a king to his royal lineage. Two Tribes in Ghana, Frafra and Dagaaba are particularly known to be "tribal playmates" and consumption of dog meat is the common bond between the two tribes. Every year around September, games are organised between these two tribes and the Dog Head is the trophy at stake for the winning tribe.

I think the focus on Pep was already there from widespread media before he even joined City, remember that he left Bayern under a cloud after accusing the dressing room of having a mole, and also that injury crisis saga with the team doctors.
So i don't think it's Man Utd fuelling the press to focus on Pep.

However i do think Zlatan's video to City keeper was a bad idea

This weekend I'm exchanging the white and red/yellow of Arsenal for the sky blue of ManCity.

Good football like rich, expressive wine has to succeed over that arrogant sod.

   Ask Madrid legend Alfredo di Stefano. I think Mousinho was Madrid coach at the time.
Di Stefano, Madrid's honorary president, wrote in his weekly column in sports newspaper Marca that the Portuguese coach's team showed "no personality" after a result that practically clinches Barcelona's third straight league trophy.

"Barcelona's football in the Bernabeu was simply brilliant. Their superiority was there for the whole planet to see," Di Stefano wrote. "Madrid was a team without personality. The decision to try and play Barcelona on the counterattack was clearly not the right one.

"Barcelona play football and dance while Madrid just run back and forth constantly, tiring themselves out."

"We saw clearly that their approach was not the right one. Barcelona were a lion, Madrid a mouse," Di Stefano wrote, before heaping further praise on Barcelona's tactics, a surprise for such a famous Madrid personality.

"You don't just watch their football with your eyes but you feel it inside. They treat the ball with adoration and respect, almost nurturing it. To see this team in action is a delight."

Robben has always been injury prone, so that cannot be used as an excuse for Pep at Bayern.

It can as he was one of their best. The point being, since they weren't at their best he had to use what he had and get the optimum from them.

What I mean is that Robben was injury prone long befriended Guardiola came to Bayern and the job was still done.
So you cannot excuse Pep coz of Robben, he knew this before he came to Bayern and bought players when he arrived, so itt no longer an excuse to hide behind

Point is still valid as he did not have the best players available to him all season and so the impact internationally could not have been as impactful as desired.

My man, we are going round in circles.

The point is injury prone players like Robben were never available all season to previous managers before Pep, and that was no excuse, a treble was even won.

Canada[edit]
It is legal to sell and serve dog meat, providing that it must be killed and gutted in front of federal inspectors.[23] If a dog is killed out of the view of federal inspectors, the killing might involve cruelty, which would be a violation of the Criminal Code, and those convicted may be sentenced to up to 5 years in prison.
