When Yugoslavia split, they gave us two great squads in Yugoslavia, Croatia, and now we have an up-and-coming Slovenia. Kanoute is unlucky to be born at the time of Henri and Trezeguet in a talent rich country.

In Nigeria Owobokiri, Akpoborie, Ohenhen, and even the likes of Ijeh have had a hard time breaking into the team despite distinguishing themselves in their respective leagues. There are lots of Brazilian strikers, Elber, Anderson etc with the same ill fortune. If they were around in 1982, they would have been shoo-ins but they are playing in 2004 so no such luck.
