Ignorance or honest mistake?

Post by cic old boy »

Roberto Martinez was on Football Focus this morning talking about Thierry Henry his assistant coach with Belgium. He said Henry was part of the generation of players that won France's 1st major trophy with the WC in 1998. I was like, what about the Euros in 1984? Platini, Tigana and all that?

Is there anything you don't find fault in? I'm sure the guy probably misspoke. After all, he does know more than you. :thumb:

Probably meant in the modern era much like British football is sometimes divided into premiership era and the older era

Maybe he did not consider European trophy a major trophy in 1984 just as nobody considers Ghana's 1954, and 1959 ANC trophy a trophy.

He made a mistake simple....
"There is big pressure at this club as you cannot be like the manager at Arsenal and ask for five years to try and to win one trophy" - Jose Mourinho

.... I believe in God. I try to be a good man so He can have a bit of time to give me a hand when I need it - Jose Mourinho

This kinda of honest mistake may be the reason why a talent glutted Belgium will have to salvage a 1-1 draw at home to Greece under Martinez. Belgium better look for another coach.
TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED...
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding...hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe

By the way, who cares about this? What has this got to do about or with the Super Eagles?
