A former coach of the Nigerian senior national team, Super Eagles, chief Paul Hamilton, is dead.

Hamilton who also coached the Super Falcons had battled several ailments that led to the amputation of his leg at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) earlier this year.

He died at the military hospital on Thursday at the age of 75.

Great player and great guy.

I met him at the National Stadium in Lagos to conduct an interview for a book on the national team. This was back in 2008. He was very accommodating as I came in when he was getting ready to prepare for his work with kids in his academy. He gave me all the time that I needed and also went ahead to link me to both Peter Anieke and Joseph Eric for additional interviews.

He certainly will be missed by a lot of people. May His Soul Rest in Peace.

One coach that is not celebrated, who went about his job quietly with no fuss but great dedication to the cause. He nursed the Eagles to good health around the time when the eagles crash landed and lost its feathers and its ability to fly.

He put in place the platform that helped Westerhoff to suceed. A true patriot and one that is worth celebrating in everyway possible.

RIP Paul 'Wonder Boy' Hamilton

I heard recently, from an ex-international, that Anieke died a couple of years ago but I do not remember reading about his passing.

By the way was it Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) or Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) that he died at?

TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED...
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
