Daniele De Rossi has been omitted from Roma's squad to face Empoli on Saturday evening, as he recovers from a back injury sustained on international duty.

De Rossi is the major injury absentee from Luciano Spalletti's 21-man group for the game, with fellow midfielder Kevin Strootman also suspended.

However there is a place in the squad for young full-back Nura Abdullahi, who returned to first-team training this week after recovering from a serious knee injury.

Saturday's game gets underway at 20:45 CST.

I understand the injury issue and the need to be tested and all that....but Nura is the the real deal in that position. This boy has it all. His offensive skills are scary but it's his intelligence and positional awareness that will pull him through.

Today is his first time listed(I think) but he's already at the same skill level as bellerin , he just needs to develope the power and endurance of a Vic Mo and this boy will go for $40m this summer. If he plays today he will lock up the SE starting job in 20mins. In Nura we believe!

If Nura gets his injury issues in check, he will make the RB slot his own for year to come. But for now thats a big if. Lets hope he gets some decent play time at Roma now.

Of course he is! ROHR tried to call him for the Senegal game but Roma's coach said he wasn't ready yet as he was just back in training from injury. Btw, ROHR knows 1000 times more about our players than anybody on CE. Idowu is useless.

He had some kind of heart ailment early last year for which he received treatment and made a full recovery. Knee injury is the more recent issue which he has now bounced back from. If he can stay injury free he is a big time talent.
