SE DEFENSE
Balogun might be relegated to div 2 in Germany,Ekong looks like he's going to be on the bench for a while longer and Omeruo seems to be stuck n Turkey. Agbo is a walking red card and Awazien is still playing youth ball. What to do now?

Re: SE DEFENSE
I thought Omeruo may join Napoli at the beginning of the next season which I think it will be great for his career and SE. Surely trends of events with SE defense is a major concern. Another department with major issue is the goal keeping dept. For what we have right now in these two areas do not inspire a lot confidence .
Re: SE DEFENSE
The defence will be ok. i watched Balogun come on early in the 2nd half against Bayern Munich to replace the hapless LB who was being raped by Robben, and he completely nullified Robben to the extent that Robben went to the other wing. Thomas Muller moved in and got no joy from Balogun as well. The next match he was dropped to the bench, ditto Troost Ekong who marshalled Gent's defence in their 2-0 away victory over Zulte-Waragam, and made the Belgian team of the week only to be dropped to the bench the following week. Omeruo is playing regularly in Turkey and should move to a higher profile league next season.

Next season is a world cup season and these players would want to play regualarly to make it to the World Cup. So they would weigh their chances and make the best decisions.
1. Balogun: if Mainz get relegated, he would make a move to another Bundesliga team or one of the Top 6 Leagues.
2. Troost-Ekong: I believe he would tie down that spot next season and if he knows he wouldnt, he would go out on loan.
3. Omeruo: He either stays in Turkey, stakes a claim in Chelsea or moves to a better league.
4. Agbo: he is a DM and Rohr would only use him as CD of last resort.
5. Awazien: Would move to another Team on loan if he isnt guaranteed a starting shirt in Porto's first team.
6. Tyrone Ebuehi: Doing well in a good league
7. Ola Aina: I really dont know much about this kid and his chances at Chelsea next season. Again, been a sure backup to the LB starters in a BIG team like Chelsea should be a good thing.
8. Elderson: He would move again to another team that can guarantee him regular football. Would be an average team in an average league but he's experience is extremely valuable for the team.
I like what Rohr is doing. The players know that with Rohr, if you are not playing regular football you might not just make his team. They all want to go to the World cup and they would make the hard choices rather than resign their fates to the bench and have satisfaction their like some of our past players.

Re: SE DEFENSE
We need Tomori in the SE
Balogun doesnt instill any confidence as a left sided Centre Back
Awaziem is not ready for this level

Re: SE DEFENSE
Do we have players in any position playing for their clubs regularly apart from Ndidi and Moses.

Re: SE DEFENSE
Tomori is NOT ready. He hasn't even nailed down a starting spot for Brighton & Hove Albion, the Championship club he was loaned out to. Ditto that for Chuba Akpom, who is his team mate at Brighton & Hove. Besides, the kid is more Canadian than Nigerian, so....
Even though Awaziem played several games for the main Oporto club last season, he has been relegated to their 2nd team this year. Granted, even though he has had several games under his belt with the second team, he really has not been spectacular. The Nigerian player who HAS really shone in that team this year is Musa Yahaya, who would likely be promoted to the Porto first team next season.

Re: SE DEFENSE
With the exception of when he was down with injuries, Balogun has been a first teamer.
Ditto that for Etebo and Moses Simon

people need to stop obsessing over who plays for first team or this or that league and focus on their actual performances
The Tomori i have watched on a number of occasions for Brighton this season is much better than Awaziem.
Ive been very impressed by him
my assessment of Awaziem is based on his performances not his demotion to Porto B.

Its probably time to invite Onuoha.
