Lobos BUAP Defeats FC Juarez, Wins Championship...

Bravos de FC Juarez were defeated by Lobos BUAP by a score of 2-1 (4-2 aggregate) Saturday night at Benito Juarez Olympic Stadium in the second leg of the 2017 Clausura final. The win by the visiting team gave them the Ascenso MX League championship for the season and a chance at being promoted into Liga MX, Mexico's premier soccer division. Lobos will now move on to the promotion final against Dorados de Sinaloa to see what team will be promoted. The home and home series will take place over the next couple of weekends.

The must-win situation appeared to be too much for FC Juarez on Saturday night in front of their soldout home crowd. The home side did not seem comfortable on the field of play at all whatsoever. The Bravos were imprecise and simply struggled to get things going offensively.

The goal Lobos scored off of a corner kick in the 25th minute of play would mark the beginning of the end for FC Juarez. Despite the added sense of urgency because of that unexpected early goal, Bravos didn't have a real opportunity to score until the 40th minute of play. They also did not have a corner kick in their favor all first half.

In the second half FC Juarez would score in the 73rd minute off of a corner kick, Cristian Gordillo would head the ball into the upper right corner. For a moment it appeared that the Bravos might pull off a comeback victory, but their predictable offensive attack would be shutdown by Lobos.

FC Juarez lacked offensive spark and variety on Saturday night, their attempts to score became repetitive and ineffective with every passing attempt.

The second goal for Lobos would come in the 88th minute of play to close out the series. The goal can be said was circumstantial due to the Bravos going on an all out attack in the closing minutes, desperate to get the second goal they needed to send the series to overtime.

The players for FC Juarez will be released from team duties on Monday and will be allowed to start their vacation. There will however be little time to go on holiday for the FC Juarez front office as next season is only a couple of months away.

Mexico wont rush to call him up.

Heck, the call up of Dos Santos was so controversial just because his father is Brazilian, despite the fact that the Dos Santos brothers were born in Mexico and their father was Mexico's former national team coach.

So no need to rush. Unless of course, dem don change!

...we are every where

As for a full blown negra to suit up for el tri, e no go happen. Mejicans are some kind of fierce nationalist when it comes to their national team.

The point of this thread is to is to bring him to the attention of Nigerians. He was based in Los Angeles before. He is a nice guy. With respect to Super Eagles, it is far too early.

Mexican League historically does not have many Africans ... The gulf between Mexico and Africa is so wide ... We would do well there and we would help their League.

...and former Zambian captain Kalusha Byawla, a terrific left footer, played in Mexico in the late 90s.
