Balogun Injured!!!

Post by Dammy »

Leon Balogun went off injured, holding his groin and was replaced in the 16th minute of today's match against Cologne. His injury record is quite appalling and I hope he does not miss the CAN qualifier against South Africa in Uyo on the 10th of June.
I am happy

Oshimen comes in for Jung

First contribution is to set up Guilavogui

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

Perhaps Victor should've done more to prevent the cross, but big failure was in central defence

Okay. Makes sense now.
I must say I was taken by surprise by the low quality of football for a Bundesliga game.
A few 'anywhere-belle-face' clearances and some sloppy ball control....

That sucks as it likely knocks Osimhen out of the Super Eagles French exercise.

Is there a reason for using this unimportant information to derail this thread? What's more important to Nigeria? Oshimen coming in or Balogun getting injured?

I was as well, hoofing left right and centre, but after watching the game, I feel like Oshimen will have a fair bit of game time next season.

How would you analyze Osimhen's performance?
The difficulties of statistical thinking describes a puzzling limitation of our mind: our excessive confidence in what we believe we know, and our apparent inability to acknowledge the full extent of our ignorance and the uncertainty of the world we live in. We are prone to overestimate how much we understand about the world and to underestimate the role of chance in events -- Daniel Kahneman (2011), Winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics

He needs a run of games. But his pace will always trouble defenders and it was obvious in the few minutes he played, wide on the right as a wide forward.

Wolfsburg has been dismal all season, but I expect them to come thru the playoff and then retool for next season...

May not be a bad idea to give him minutes from the bench in the SE to help build his confidence..

He seems to be a complete reminiscent of Onyekachi Apam a very hard tackler . His career was severely shortened as a result of continuous injuries he incurred due to his frequent hard tackles
