Back in the day, 5 of the top European clubs had Naija players
Today, not a single one of them employs a Naija man

what can we attribute this to?

Sunday Mba and Godfrey Oboabona were not playing in Europe when they won the Nations Cup, and I have no idea where Christian Bassogog was playing when he scored to eliminate Ghana on the way towards winning with Cameroun.

The Ghanaian players who won 35 years ago in 1982, where in Europe did they play? :???:

Pointing out the fact that only one EPL team is in the top 10 is a bigger sin on CE. :)

Fatau Dauda of Enyimba (Aba) played for Ghana at the 2017 Nations Cup. Glass houses, stones, etc.

PS: On a serious note, I am not an EPL or European club fan. Sunday Mba's two goals in 2013 matter more to me than Yakubu and Kanu's combined EPL goals total multiplied by 100. Frankly, I worry when Nigerian players feature for "big" clubs or English clubs (two different things), because it is a guarantee they will start Eagles matches even if they are not effective for the Eagles <cough> Ighalo <cough>.

There is a Nigerian in Man city FC right now, a defender.
Winners do it the right way.

If only you could see the posts he has stored up to use when Ghana next wins the Nations Cup.

He initially composed it years ago on paper, then transferred it to floppy disk, then to a thumb drive, and now the composition is in the cloud. Depending on which point in the future computers and internet become obsolete, we may never get to see the post.

We have been brainwashed by the Premier League that it's the best in the world. Nonsense. It's the best brand
Roy Keane: ITV 02/25/14

He says that we are currently "brainwashed" into believing that the Premier League is the best competition in the world, and that we are now a long way off dominating the Champions League again.
Gary Neville: Mirror: 12/23/14

I think Spain’s by far the best league.
