And so the coach will source for new defensive players that can better gel as a unit (Westerhoff sampled through 50+ players before he got his winning formula)!
The coach has to go through growing pains! Its asinine for anyone to advocate for his removal (or indeed, want to 'vet' his selections) because of a hiccup against South Africa.
And as far as I am concerned, Chris Green is nothing short of an Imbecile!

That being said, players should not be imposed on him.

The funny thing is that had Algeria taken their chances this result will not be a surprise to anyone. He needs to improve on the personnel and the tactics.

We still play at a very slowwwwww pace and our pressing game is not coordinated. ...even our off the ball movement is still poor.

He has to improve on those things.
The repeated opening up of our defense is not by chance.

That's the point some of you don't get.

Agree but Rohr seems to have poor eye for talent, his sole criteria seems to be that they play in a top club in Europe forgetting that our soccer is going through a slump right now so our talents are not highly valued and as a results are in all sorts of league just to get out of Nigeria.

Nigeria and Nigerians are always ready to implode at the first sign of a minor obstacle.

Who is advocating for his removal?

Coaches are not infallible. Giving them guidance is not interference.

I absolutely and totally concur. He has a very poor eye for talents. No doubt about it.

I've heard it all now.

He has a poor eye for talent ?

He has chosen BY FAR the best squads of any recent coach, including SSS, Keshi, and Oliseh.

What did people think when Keshi was ignoring genuine talents for clubless and injured junks, junks who would end up in Finland or Polish 2nd division. Was this an eye for talent ?

Yes he has made some very questionable decisions, most notably Akpeyi or the benching of Onyekuru, but he has been by far our best coach.

According to a member of the technical Committee, Garba Lawal, this report is a tissue of lies. The technical committee did not ask Rohr to defend his line-up and also did not request to vet his invitations.

Rohr is doing a great job and should be given time! Anyone who has led an organisation before wouldn't be clamouring for his immediate sack at the first hurdle!

Don't you think not including Ezekiel Imoh after his bravura performance in the Olympics is another egregious omission. Then not inviting the Olympics goalkeeper is a buffoonish error. The man has made some major errors that question his abilities to pick good players

You lost at home!
You cannot qualify for anything in the CAF landscape by losing at home.

Which Ezekiel? The one that disappeared against Colombia and Germany at the Olympics, the only 2 real tests the U23 team encountered. He was in Rohr's first list but did not even make the match day squad. He is moving back to Europe next season, hopefully his form may warrent another SE invitation until then he is outside looking in. The Olympics goalkeeper, has joined SA giants, Orlando Pirates, and he is yet to play a game for them yet you are advocating his inclusion!

Rohr cannot have the attitude of mr. Know it all anymore. He must consult with Green moving forward. We can't to allow Rohr handle cameroon like he did South Africa. The common goal must be the success of the SE and not massaging Rohrs ego.

KPOM

Rohr blew his chances, just look at the junk he paraded vs SA, my goodness we lost at home to SA by 2 goals, it could have been worse, they hit the post 2ce

My brother, we may not necessarily agree on this issue because I feel a coach should live or die by his results but must be allowed to dictate his terms

Having said that, I admire your consistency with regard to our coaching. I find it funny that some here who are saying we should give Rohr a chance did not give Keshi a third of a chance after losing to Congo, despite the fact that he recently won the nations cup and had just returned from the world cup

Autonomy over player selection matters is a basic expectation for any decent manager. Either hire a real manager and let him do his job, or hire an NFF stooge and exert control from above. You cannot try to have it both ways, it will just ruin things. If you think you are more informed and qualified than the person you are giving millions to manage, then do it yourself.

And yet one of those Keshi's junk that ended up in the 2d division scored the goal to WIN the ANC for us... :taunt:

BTW, who exactly has Rohr's supposedly "best" eye for talent selected that was not previously selected by our much-derided indigenous coaches - Ebuehi? Maroof? Onyekuru? Agu? Agbo? You know, those world-beaters who lock down the bench while the players previously selected by SSS, Keshi, Oliseh and Salisu do the actual playing on the field. SMDH

Yes I have problems with some of his selections

Akpeyi

Problems with some omissions

Imoh
Daniel

And him keeping Onyekuru on the fringes

But he is by far better than the likes of SSS, Keshi, and Oliseh where there were major issues with national team selection.

By the way if Rohr ever dare start that clown Akpeyi ever again then I will begin my campaign against him. No coach can wish Nigeria well by playing him. He shouldn't even be called up as far as I am concerned.
