Ghana falling short to Mexico ... They will need a ladder to climb out of the hole they seem to be in.

Mexico's Gold Cup side, Team B/C. Ghana played this one close and looked far more organized thank your usual African side. :-(. But still frustrating to watch. For long periods Mexico played keep ball. Achaempong had a face to face with the goalie and somehow managed to hit the bar.

To be honest this was a very inexperienced and fresh team with a lot of key starters missing (Partey, Gyan, Ayew, Amartey) and a couple of fringe players replacing them.

Also odd to have a Mexican referee ref a game vs Mexico basically at home in Houston (given the massive Mexican crowd there). Very odd situation. That said it was a penalty foul.

Ghana actually has a very exciting team to build on...Dwanema will surely fill in Gyan's shoes cause his work rate and positional awareness is up there...Thomas Agyepong(sp) and the LB Lumor(whom I think is better than Baba) were particularly impressive, that been said afyer Gyan retires, Ghana will surely struggle for a while in that striking department, but I see a bright future for the bredas.

I looked at the highlights of this game on a Mexican biased YouTube video and even in that video they showed that Ghana had more clear cut chances from open play and got unlucky with the crossbar. It's good experience for both teams, especially with Mexico going to the Gold Cup and assessing local squad players for their World Cup squad as well as Ghana to prepare for World Cup qualifying which they need to really work hard to get back into.

Pray, which Mexico squad is that?

Isn't Mexico at the Confed Cup in Russia?

Mexico E team. As the 24 in confed cup is already A, B, and half of C team. The ones at home D and E team. Ghana played E team.
"Nigeria", Africas only true hope of bringing the World cup home to motherland.

You have odd math :)

First team 11 players
Second team 11 players
= 22 players
Confed Cup 23 players (including three goalkeepers).

Mexico also left some of their better players for the Gold Cup and so the Confed Cup is the first team, plus parts of team B and C.
Players like Corona, Pulido, Hernandez, Ayala are pretty close to the first team.

So its more like team C+D with a tocuh of B.

Both teams were playing their alternative squads and the game was very close despite the result.

Tfco forget that Team B nonsense, which of the regular guys could have balled any better or made any more impact than the new boys? Dede Ayew, Jordan, Astu? those guys are pretty much washed up and not as good as they were...these new boys look very exciting, they just need time as KA looks to build a young and good team for the future..forget the result and watch the game itself, the potential is there already!

Btw that was Mexico's team C you guys faced, the bulk of their Team B are in the Confed cup interning with the regulars.

Naija team A would have lost to this Mexican side
Nwabali -- Aina, Bassey, TroostEkong, Sanusi --- Chukwueze, Aribo, Ndidi, Iwobi --- Osimhem, Sadiq Umar
