BELGIAN SUPER CUP - NIGERIAN PLAYERS

Post by Gotti »

In the Belgian Super Cup yesterday, which marks the beginning of the season, Anderlecht beat Zulte Waregem 2-1, with Henry Onyekuru coming on as a second-half substitute for Anderlecht while Peter Olayinka (on loan from Gent) played the entire game for Zulte Waregem. Meanwhile, Kingsley Madu failed to make the bench for Zulte while Ali "Speed Train" Bala (who joined Zulte this season from AS Trecin) was an unused sub.

Did you watch the game? If so how did Onyekuru do?

Didn't really get used, as much as he ought to. On one occasion he feigned a player, took a shot that hit the bar. Really ought to have scored. You can tell the other players, are still warming up to him.
"Nigeria", Africas only true hope of bringing the World cup home to motherland.

Apparently he played only 1 preseason game (and scored) the week before the Super Cup...
