Messi wants Barca player exit?
Messi wants Barca player exit?
There has been a somewhat strange revelation this week coming out of Catalonia.
Don Balon reports that Lionel Messi has demanded that his teammate Andre Gomes be sold.
It is understood that Barcelona have refused to comply with Messi's demand.
This is strange because a) why does Messi want to specify a single player to be ousted? and b) if Messi - a Blaugrana god - wants a player to be sold, why aren't they selling him?
The answer to question A is rather simple. Messi doesn't rate Gomes.
The 22-year old arrived at Camp Nou last summer for €35m from Valencia.
Gomes was woeful in his debut season, despite making 30 league appearances. He was even was jeered and booed off the pitch during Barca's loss to Leganes in February.
Messi wants Gomes gone, not solely for his lacklustre play, but because he plays in the same position as Messi's long-time covetedtarget, Paris Saint Germain's Marco Verratti.
The answer to the second question is a bit more grey.
The club certainly weren't impressed by Gomes' performances last season, but then again, he's only 22-years old. Also, it was only 12 months ago that they outlaid a large amount of cash for his services.
Likelihood: Gomes to stay

Truth be told the boy has power and he is a good baller. Also if Barca don't listen to him they will be in trouble unless likes of Neymar and Suarez are staying for a long time .

What will happen to Barcelona if they don't listen to Messi?
Alexis Sanchez was never a good fit for Barça.

Real news:
Barcelona needs a content Lionel Messi playing at his brilliant best; so the club often does the needful to keep Messi (Barca's prized asset) content. Even if that means disposing a lesser player.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding...hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe

Messi becoming to Barca what Lebron James is to Cavaliers?

Na wa o, even Ibra himself said his only issue at Barca was Guardiola, that he got along with every single player...that said for what Messi has done for the club he has the right to flex nutts, abegi!guest83 wrote:Messi is a punk. Messi has earned that right on the field.

No player should ever have that right.bepanda wrote:Messi has earned that right on the field.

Your world is a world of illusion. The reality is different ...
And teams that have such players know it.
You don't mess with MJ, LeBron, Messi, CR7, Brady, ... etc.

Football was just fine without Messi. Barcelona were behemoths before Messi. Messi is great, he is something special, but he is not indispensable if we really think about things. Barcelona will be great after Messi.bepanda wrote:Your world is a world of illusion. The reality is different ...

It is an immense conflict of interest to have a player wielding too much power. Why is it that when someone points out a problem, people give examples? That is how problems are encouraged! Lebron, CR7 etc, those are all problems.
Real Madrid did not become great because of CR7, let the players stay in their lane and let the coaches and administrators do their job. It doesn't create a good environment IMO, results aren't everything. Win the right way!
In Emergency situations fine, players wielding uncustomary power is okay, it is makeshift, but as a permanent feature, for me it is an ugly situation, it blurs the boundaries and allows the player to be self serving.
We assume that these players are rational, they are not. On the pitch fine, give a player more freedom on the pitch, that is one thing. But freedom off the pitch? Hell no! I could care less if it is Lionel Messi, Edson Arantes, Maradona, Gaucho, Fenomeno or CR7
I would send them packing!
