Why haven't the likes of...

Ebuehi, Aina, Onyekuru, Nwakaeme etc played yet even as second half subs? at least it was safe enough to try out these players in our first game victory against Cameroon since it was pretty much formality after we were cruising to a comfortable win...I get the whole concept of Rohr sticking with his line up for consistency, but we all saw that logic didn't hold firm in the return leg when we completely collapsed in the second half.. why invite all the aforementioned players when they ended up been stuck on the bench? we badly needed fresh legs in that second half...and introducing new players like Ebuehi, Aina, Nwakaeme would have not only given us more opportunity to access our depth but also evaluate the qualities of these players. A player like Onyekuru surely wouldn't have done badly after Simon Moses got tired and needed to be subbed out, why did Rohr even wait so long to bring in subs? he should have brought in the likes of Etebo (to play Mikels position), Ihenacho to play behind Musa or Nwakaeme, Aina for Echejile...perharps we could have have even troubled a wobbly Cameroonian defense more...Hugo Broos despite been a more clueless coach at least the initiative to bring in Aboubakar and Bassogog early on...and we saw how that changed the tide of game for Cameroon, Rohr needs to learn to make subs early and not wait till the dying minutes when players are worn out to do the needful, it's very tactless.

At one point it looked as if we had 2 games to Spare in the group as we looked to qualify earlier but now we need to concentrate on beating Zambia so I'm sure if where leading by 2 goals or more at half time he can experiment with a few new comers and then we play Algeria under no pressure with a greater number of debuties but why would any experienced coach leading a group take a risk by playing so many untried players together?

To be honest having fresh legs however "untried" semed far safer than leaving tired and experienced legs to endure the relentless rampage of a very determined team...if the reason for sticking to the same players almost all game was done for retaining chemistry or whatever....then it's apparent it didn't really work and nearly cost us a vital away point.

Aina could have started the first game against Cameroon as the manager rang up changes from the team that lost to SA. But the FIFA issue kept him from playing. Seeing how the team did, it made no sense to start him in the second game as the coaching crew sought to build chemistry in the backline... and frankly, they did play better as a unit in this game than the previous game.

On Nwakaeme, I thought he would have been the sub used to replace Ighalo... he would have provided the physicality and the element of surprise. Anyway, the aim in qualification is to JUST QUALIFY! You can tinker with the personnel and tactics later.

PS., Rohr has improved somewhat on the timing of his substitutions... earlier on in his career with the Eagles he was always late with his subs waiting until the players are on Empty or are being overrun. He needs to be mindful of that... maybe he is just conservative with his subs.
THERE WAS A COUNTRY...

...can't cry more than the bereaved!

Well done is better than well said!!!

And if we lost due a disjointed team you'd be asking why he chose to do so!
