Man City went into the transfer market with one mission- satisfy manager Pep Guardiola.

The Spaniard had just completed a trophyless season for the first time in his career and the former Barcelona manager was backed up well with the funds to play with.

Guardiola had identified certain problems in the team- a lack of a ball-playing keeper, quality wingbacks and a squad that had average age just short of 29 years.

Man City would sign Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson from Benfica and the keeper looks to be the part Guardiola wants from him. He looks to take the number one spot after Claudio Bravo's numerous gaffes last season.
