I will pick a fit Balogun over the erratic Taribo West any day of the week.

@Tbite, in other words, Ifs and Buts. Were their compatriots to stir up select XIs, Maradona and Messi running at the backline, CRon and Eusebio with Rui Costa dropping the shoulder. Platini and Zizou feeding Henry, Pele and Ronaldo with Socrates philosophising, Gerd Muller being serviced by Tony Kruus with Franz and Matthias stepping up from the back...Nigeria would not only receive, they'd receeeeeeeeeive!

Yes the 90s side were decent but there have been many Moby d#$% to our stockfish. Let's not exaggerate unnecessarily. The Eagles have only been super by sobriquet and nothing else, on the global scale.

Good point, if e.g. Argentina picked a team of their players from the last 20 years, they would have:

Abbondanzieri
Zanetti-Ayala-Samuel-Chamot
Riquelme-Mascherano-Redondo
Messi-Batistuta-Aguero

no space for Crespo, Tevez, Veron, Canniggia, Claudio Lopez, Kily, Almeyda, or Sorin!

Brazil could do:

Taffarel
Cafu-Aldair-Lucio-Roberto Carlos
Gilberto-Dunga
Rivaldo-Romario-Ronaldinho
Ronaldo

no space for Alves, Djalminha, Juninho (x2), Marcio Santos, Marcelo...

The only Nigerian player that has a chance of getting into (or even making the bench for) either team is Vince!

1) Maradona is not in my Argentine team because:

(a) I spoke of Argentine "players from the last 20 years"
(b) Maradona retired in 1994.
(c) 1994 was more than 20 years ago.

We all know your black behind never watched Odegnami and Chukwu play. So you mentioned them based on what evidence.

You added David Adiels but remember he lost his place in the team to Sylvannus Okpala. As per Muda Lawal, he did not have the defensive capabilities of say Mikel, Adepoju or Ndidi.
