You sometimes get the impression people are scared of competition. But that can't be the case becos we are only fans.
So it must be some misplaced 'nationalistic' sentiment causing people to feel that foreign-born Nigerians are less Nigerian than those born at home.
Or maybe its that silly old thing about hating everything British.
But when VicMo of SE drops that ball inside net I nor dey hear anybody complain say him carry British passport enter London when returning for Chelsea duty.

British-born Nigerian striker Tammy Abraham could soon be playing for the Super Eagles
President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick has told SCORENigeria that the Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham and his father are excited and positive he could soon be playing for Nigeria.
Pinnick said he met with the striker, whose full names are Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham, and his father last week in London in this regard.
The 19-year-old forward, who is on loan to Swansea City, is one of the many British-born Nigerian players the NFF have been wooing to switch allegiance to Nigeria.
Pinnick told Scorenigeria.com.ng:“I was with Tammy Abraham and his father in London last week and our meeting was positive.
“They have collected the forms and just the way we followed up with that of Ola Aina we would do same with Tammy.
“I can tell you that his parents are excited about the prospect of the young lad playing for Nigeria.
“But we have to be patient because we have seen with the case of Ola Aina that the process is not automatic.”
Tammy Abraham, who has featured for England U21s, has made five appearances for Swansea City in the Premier League and scored a goal this season.
Pinnick is turning out to be the best NFA president ever, heyras can hug transformer

KPOM! Some of our current best performers are Vic Moses, Balogun and Ekong. Not only that, there is CHAN and more recently, WAFU Cup of Nations for the locals participate in.
That's more than enough competition to keep them busy and provides them a platform to be scouted by foreign clubs (which, at the end of the day, is THE expectation for 90% of them anyway).
Its all good.

Re: TAMMY ABRAHAM: Update on Nigeria's Chase.....
Well, this story is getting some big traction with some news outlets saying he's already made the decision to play for Nigeria.
Most of the reaction seems to be of the "good for him" or "he's crap anyway" variety.
Let's see how the FA reacts though I think they have other issues to contend with at the moment. Pinnick chose the right time to strike. They must despise Ango-Nigerians at the moment.

I am not a fan of peak milk, but bobo no dey waste time when it comes to getting our players from those oyinbo.. this is a major coup( Ola, Moses, Iwobi , Troost etc ) they've all come to improve our SE.. it will actually create more competition ..mix home grown development with foreign development , is a massive win for the SE( just look at Les Blues) Half of the u20 champions that played for England are naijas... we are yet to win that cup
I hope Tammy plays for the SE .. ASAP

KPOM, peak milk has found his calling visiting Naija parents in London and getting them to let their kids play for the SE. If we can create a separate portfolio or dept for this it will be good.Bigpokey24 wrote:I am not a fan of peak milk, but bobo no dey waste time when it comes to getting our players from those oyinbo.. this is a major coup( Ola, Moses, Iwobi , Troost etc ) they've all come to improve our SE.. it will actually create more competition ..mix home grown development with foreign development , is a massive win for the SE( just look at Les Blues) Half of the u20 champions that played for England are naijas... we are yet to win that cup

If we're to be truly fair and objective i don't see how Abraham even makes a list of 30 players invited to camp to follow fight for a shirt as of today. Maybe next yr or after the wc he might but I doubt it. Good catch if all we want is potential .
Getting Udohkai or Torunarigha would be real big deals, until then pinnick has only gotten him s buddy's son to commit to Nigeria.

The FA will probably just mount pressure on the likes of Demola Lookman and get them to demonstrate commitment. Psychological manipulation... That is all they can do

Let me get this straight...
Someone, who was top scorer in the English Championship last season, played in the FIFA WC U20 final and was a winner and who is currently a regular starter for a premiership club (and scoring) cannot make the top 30 of a team whose only striker plays in China??
Sure.

Good news ....the little i have seen of the bobo ,he should be able to offer us a different option upfront. Something which thst fake Kanu..Uchebo or whatever he is called deceived us into believing he had to offer.

Re: TAMMY ABRAHAM: Update on Nigeria's Chase.....
Tammy Abraham has several players vying for his slot - all tall, strong centre forwards. Not sure Abraham will come out on top, but for now he is:
Taiwo Awoniyi - having a good start to the season
Sadiq Umar - regressing, needs playing time
Victor Osimhen - needs to start playing for his team
Paul Onuachu - quite a goal machine, but in Denmark
p.s. Bonaventure's goals.
