Top 5 Nigerian Players in the last 5 weeks by ScoreNigeria

Post by chief nfachairman »

Note:
1. These are my additions to ScoreNIgeria's 5.
Etebo, Troost-Ekong, Olayinka, Esiti, Dessers/ Umar

2. For the past 4/5 weeks, ScoreNigeria missed out the following who have been consistent: V.Moses, Joel Obi (twice), Awaziem, Etebo.
3. There are atleast 2 left wingers (Onyekuru, Olayinka) hotter than Simon Moses in Belgium in the last 6 weeks and 1 all out attacker (Dennis)
4. Denis, Onyekuru, Awoniyi and troost (to a lesser extent) have been consistent on scoreNigeria's list.
5. Added to scoreNigeria's list, Etebo, Joel Obi, Awaziem and V.Moses have been top performers.
6. Onyekuru, Denis, Awoniyi, Olayinka, Obi (when fit) are knocking on Rohr's door. I hope he opens it by Jan/ Feb latest.
7. The fact that None of SE current strikers are turning heads in their leagues means we still need to try out newer hands.

-------------SCORE NIGERIA LIST BELOW-------------------------------
5. Ibrahim Alhassan ‘Muazzam’ (Austria Wien)

The former FC Hearts striker has finally opened his goals account in Europe when he inspired Austrian Wien to a 2-0 home win over Altach Sunday.

‘Muazzam’ has given everything in previous appearances for his new club and he crowned all the endeavour with an opportunistic strike as he stretched out all of his long leg to guide home a left cross for his debut official goal.

Understandably, he dedicated the goal to long-time mentor Adam Mohammed and his former club FC Hearts.

4. Taiwo Awoniyi (Royal Excel Muscron)
The former Nigeria U20 striker is making a better push at his third European club as he scored his fourth goal in all competitions this past weekend. After loan spells from Premier League club Liverpool which have all ended in relegation, Awoniyi will certainly need a little more luck.

3. Henry Onyekuru (Anderlecht)
He was a late match winner for champions Anderlecht at home against Standard Liege. It is his fourth league goal in Belgium.

And the win will most certainly ease the tension at the club, who have already sacked their coach and have started poorly in the UEFA Champions League after such high expectations.

2. Denis Bonaventure (Club Brugge)
The forward is now one of the leading scorers in the Belgian top league after he scored his fifth league goal for leaders Club Brugge in a 2-1 home win over KAA Gent. He has fully settled in on his debut season in Belgium and looks to add to his already impressive tally.

1. Alex Iwobi (Arsenal)
Alex Iwobi will be available for selection for Saturday’s crucial World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Uyo after he recovered from a thigh injury to score his first goal of the Premier League season for Arsenal.

He played 70 minutes and afterwards said the three points, a clean sheet and a goal against Brighton were a perfect way to celebrate Nigeria’s 57th independence anniversary

The list below is from the past 5 weeks and done by ScoreNigeria.com.ng.

Note:
1. Some of Rohr's starters didnt make it at all to the list.
2. Onyekuru and Dennis have made the list about 2/3 times. Moses Simon who plays in the same league with them hasnt made any list at all and is hardly even scoring.
3. While Musa made it once (based on the worthless cup goals and lack of not much games that week), Kele hasnt made it. I am beginning to feel that one of Kele and Musa WOULD NOT make it to the Worldcup (we would qualify, Insha Allah).
4. The list to a large extent is also pretty faulty when players posting 5 star performances aren't making the list like Etebo, Joel Obi etc.
5. I expect Kayode to feature on this list regularly very soon. He is staking a claim for a permanent starting shirt at his LaLiga club abd even started one match so far.
6. Paul Onuachi has appeared on this list twice considering he was out injured for 3weeks, this is a good feat. He would battle Odion for that BIG 9 position in the SE which also has Emenike, Nwakeame making strong claims for that position.

Week 5
Christian Pyagbara (Akwa United), Dennis Bonaventure (Club Brugge/Belgium), Orji Okonkwo (Bologna/Italy),Junior Ajayi (Al Ahly/Egypt), Paul Onuachu (Midtjylland/Denmark)

http://scorenigeria.com.ng/2017/09/25/s ... a-stars-5/

http://scorenigeria.com.ng/2017/09/17/s ... a-stars-4/

Week 3
5. Chukwuemeka Umeh (Plateau United), 4. Kelechi Nwakali (VVV Venlo), 3. Henry Onyekuru (Anderlecht), 2.Leon Balogun (Super Eagles/Mainz 05), 1. Victor Moses (Super Eagles/Chelsea)

http://scorenigeria.com.ng/2017/09/10/s ... a-stars-3/

Week 2
5. Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Goalkeeper/FC Ifeanyiubah), 4. Ahmed Musa (Winger/Leicester City), 3. Chisom Egbuchulam (Winger/BK Hacken), 2. Kingsley Eduwo (Striker/Lobi Stars), 1. Samuel Adegbenro (Striker/Rosenborg)

http://scorenigeria.com.ng/2017/08/27/s ... a-stars-2/

Week 1
5. Odion Ighalo (Striker/Changchun Yatai), 4. Samuel Eduok (Forward/Kasimpasa), 3. Paul Onuachu (Striker/Midtjylland), 2.Taiwo Awoniyi (Striker/Mouscron), 1. Bonaventure Dennis (Striker/Club Brugge)

No way kelechi or musa will be dropped for players at backwater leagues. If they like they should score in the moon at backwater leagues. We're not dropping EPL players for them. However, backwater leagues players can compete with their fellow backwater league players for a shirt. I.e simon, nwakaeme for onyekuru

Anybody who thinks that ROhr does not need to improve this team before Russia is a fool.

How can both Bonaventure and Onyekuru both outshine Simon in the exact same league, yet Simon starts for SE and the other 2 cannot get a legitimate look in. Rubbish.

Ahmed Musa definately should not be going to Russia. Based on what ? Past sentiment ? The fact that he scored 2 goals against Argentina 4 years ago ?

Rubbish the guy is playing for the reserves of a team fighting regulation. He is 25 and will not improve at this stage. Would rather take Onyekuru, BOnaventure, Dessers, Onuachu than that headless chicken.

If you are deemed worse than Simon, you must be pretty poor to be honest. Get him out. ENough of these sentiments, SE is for the best Nigerian players only.

Musa is not an EPL player.

How many EPL starts does he have ?

How many EPL BENCH APPEARANCES does he have ?

He is a reserve team player, demoted to playing U23 teams. He wont be a Leicester player for long, do you want to bet ? He will soon end up in the same backwater leagues you accuse others of playing in.

Difference is that he is old and moving backwards, while these guys you insult are young and moving forwards.

Both Brugge and Anderlecht are bigger teams in Europe than Leicester, Anderlecht is also in the Champions league, these guys play daily (when fit) and dont stink up the joint, they are one of the deadliest players in the league right now. You can rule them out. Lets see what happens by March next year.

Playing for Leicester reserves and U23 team is certainly better than playing and scoring regularly for Champions league teams.

Some people and their logic.

Emenike isn't making it back to the national team. People need to stop being delusional about this. He hasn't scored or assisted in the Greek League yet and he retired from international football. Stop bringing him up.

Also Paul Onuachu isn't going to challenge Ighalo for the main striker position. Just pointing a few things out.

At the end of the day Rohr picks the team and what he puts out will be who goes to the World Cup. Also it's still early on in the season, some of our mainstays who are out of form joined new clubs and are trying to adjust (Iheanacho just came back from injury, etc)

If Kele scores less than half the amount of goals any of these players above by the end of the season he deserves to go the World Cup,Turkey,Belguim and Chinese leagues are not even on English Championship and lower League levels!

Please list all of our potential wingers, minutes played and their goals tally the last 2 seasons. That will show if you're being objective with Musa or not. When you claim that Musa has not been as productive as some other players, you have to be able to prove it :!:

Cheers.
